With equality these days do men still feel the need to provide for their wifes/partners and family as before, in spite of the fact that some women do not expect them to be the main bread winner? Do you think it is an inbuilt thing or something that has been drilled into them since time immemorial? More...

Good afternoon to all! Can anyone tell me exactly what is pictured today? Is it a lizard of some sort, or an insect, or what?? It is difficult to make out exactly what this is.

André, what a big question! I think providing for your family is more then just material goods or wealth, although those things are obviously necessary. Providing means giving love and support, nurturing and trying to give stability. Depending on where you live in the world, this is all some More...

An out-of-towner drove his car into a ditch in a desolated area. Luckily, a local farmer came to help with his big strong horse named Buddy.
He hitched Buddy up to the car and yelled, "Pull, Nellie, pull!" Buddy didn't move.
Then the farmer hollered, "Pull, Buster, pull!" More...

Afternoon All
André, My thoughts on success in a relationship are similar to those given by Greg. Love, support, trust, and a willingness to listen to each other's feelings, dreams and fears are the glue to keeping both happy, involved and committed. If the opportunity for this More...

Thank you for the kind words to those of you who have visited my page in the last day or two. Those of you who shared that day with kindness and consolation continue to be the wind under my wings. You do lift me up because I know you understand! Peace.

Andre, whew, what a point to ponder! My fella has always been the greater earner in the household and there have been many times when I've wished I could "keep up" financially, if only to provide him with some nicety without having to worry how to pay for it... to top it off, one of the More...

My late husband and I had an agreement. He handles all the money and kept the business accounts, and I decided what to make and sell and where to sell it etc. He did a lot of the wood working etc. It worked for 50 years and three children.

Australia had it's largest lotto draw last night with over $100 million as first prize. 2 lucky tickets won and one of them is from Queensland. I haven't checked my ticket yet but if you start to see my login as as Vicki from Bahamas or Vicki from Maldives, you'll know I had the lucky one! More...

Vicki, then a few people might change their screen names to Vicki'sNewBestFriend!
Dorthea, glad to see you posting.

Vicki, you could take over the whole riddle thing on here with 'Vicki from guess where today'- would be much more interesting than my boring riddles and we'd learn a lot more about places too.
01/Jul/09 6:52 AM
 |  |

Or perhaps I could change my name to Vicki from Guess who in Sudokuland she is visiting today?
Now that would be lots of fun.

Now I must take myself off and get ready for work. I'll leave the ticket checking until later in the day (that will give me a bit longer to dream).

You will of course keep the day job even if you do win the millions won't you!

ok so imagine that you win zillions one day - you now have the possibility to do anything at all with your cash. Ok, you'll give some to your family and a bit to charity and all that - but what's the daftest thing you'll do? The most outrageous, silliest thing?

André's question, a very good one. I like Cathy's answer best so far. It was important to me as a young married man to be "the provider," which I did unwaveringly, to the detriment of the mental and emotional side of the marriage and family. The divorce made me feel very much a More...

Vicki's putting off checking her ticket so she can dream longer makes perfect sense to me. I buy one ticket in every draw of our Lotto, which allows me to be dreaming about what I'd spend it on all the time if I want to. I would buy a better house in a better location (out of town but nearer to the More...

Keith, a good response to André's question, as were all that were posted. I am surprised we haven't had any responses from the 'younger' generations. It would be worthwhile to see some responses from those that are 10/20 plus years younger then those of us who have offered thoughts so far.
