Good Maen, everyone! It's a beautiful sunny, spring day in Michigan.
It's raining petals from my huge flowering Bradford Pear tree today!

I have never been first before! I just came in from trimming gardenia and hybiscus bushes and toting dead palm fronds! It is 90 degrees with 93% humidigy! It is great to come into the air conditioning and wait for you all to sign in! Hope you have a great day!

Humidigy ~ That icky feeling you get after mucking about out of doors on a hot sodden day.

My clothes are sodden...you don't even want to know!
10/May/08 12:05 AM

TFTD:
“To have one’s cake and eat it too” is one of the best sayings ever as it’s exactly what I do (not sure why you wouldn’t…)

AFTD:
“By raising your legs slowly and laying on your back, you can't sink in quicksand” – let me know if it works for you…

Two khaki clad white hunters deep in the jungles of darkest Africa are standing beside a small pool of quicksand. Out of the center of the quicksand projects the forearm of a third member of the party. On the end of said forearm is hoisted an obscene gesture. Says one hunter to the other;
"Thats Hotchkiss for you, an angry young man to the end!"

LITTLE BOY AT NUDE BEACH

A mother and father take their 6-year old son to a nude beach in Perth.
As the boy walks along the sand, he notices that many of the women have boobs bigger than his mother's, so he asked his mother why.
She tells her son, 'The bigger they are, the sillier the More...

Hotchkiss obviously wasn't on his back with his legs raised!

Can Cold Water Clean Dishes?

This is for all the germ conscious folks that worry about using cold water to clean.

John went to visit his 90 year old grandfather in a very secluded, rural area of West Virginia.

After spending a great evening chatting the night Away, John's More...

it seems that my AFTD is too late for poor Hotchkiss...but it seems there is a small flaw in the advice...even if you do raise your legs slowly and lay on your back in a puddle of quicksand - do you just lie there and wait for the quicksand rescue team? need to think about this one...

Anne - It kinda give me goose pumbles!!!! I think I will stick with Hot Water and Soap!!!!

It is so pretty here today, also. The blossoms on my trees are opening more everyday!

Good maen-- a beautiful sunny day here in Naperville-- cool though-- in the low 60's. But, wonderful for a drive to Michigan for our son's graduation tomorrow-- have a wonderful weekend ...

Billy, at this time of the evening, I can't even find the quicksand, nevermind raising my legs in the air!!
I'm glad I don't have a coldwater dishwasher Anne!!
Carole, I would love to be in the humidigy, as our top temp here today was 19c and as dry as chips!
And it really is my bedtime now so nighty night to all!!!
10/May/08 12:49 AM

2:06 Maen! Jiminoregon, I _thought_ that might be Mt. Hood -- I just saw it a couple of days ago during a meeting in Hood River. Beautiful country down that way!

I love the colors in the photo.
Rainy and dreary here today
We had storms all night. Lots of thunder keeping me awake
Oh, yes. High humidigy, too!
10/May/08 12:56 AM

And the answer to "Who's on first"? Beat you to it by a hair, Carol! (And no, ...not by one of jeb's nose hairs!) Must have been the humidigy that slowed you down! Great new word, Carol!
10/May/08 1:08 AM

Bluey, Before you go nighty-night...what does "dry as chips" mean? Buffalo chips? potato chips? With all the humidigy here, I have never heard that term?
10/May/08 1:11 AM

Billy, I once had a book that was a survival guide, and it gave exactly that advice for quick sand. Elsewhere it noted that if you were caught in an avalanche, you should spit to find out which way was up. (Knew you'd want to know.)

World
Plenty of & no rain for a change, guess it went to Kathy's. None of that horrible humidigy either.

 |  |

Sue b, congrats to your son!
10/May/08 1:17 AM
 |  |
And, Ruby, you blow bubbles (from your mouth!) to determine which way is "up" when you're caught in swirling water!
10/May/08 1:20 AM
 |  |

Carole, it means totally no humidigy!! But I have never even thought about 'chips' of what, wood one would assume, as in tinder dry.
I have just done this pic as a jigsaw and the variations in the blues are amazing!! Great shot!
I am not really still up but merely waiting as my baby (almost 21 and just out of a 3 year relationship )who is 'going out' tonight!!
10/May/08 1:34 AM

Glad you clarified that, Judy!
I'll remember that, as I'm off to take a bath!

I remember that one Judy, but have never (thankfully) had to test it out!!

Hi, all! Sunny here, but breezy and cool. I find I'm chilly in the house, but of course, the cabinet installer has the back door wide open. And so this brings me to the end of week 8 in the renovation process, and I still have my sense of humour ...
Have a great weekend, everyone, and if you're around here, we'll be cleaning our garage.
