Happy Easter everyone! I hope you all have a great day with lots of chocolate... or the confectionary of your choice! So long as it tastes like something you really shouldn't eat it's fine with me.

Yes, Jane, thank you. I shall try the remedy!!! My head is swimming but my body is feeling cold and on land. Always gets my sinuses! I don't have bourbon but will rum do?
The sound of a hot buttered rum is so delish! I could go for that!

We celebrated one Easter family gathering today. It was not our day for cake. Seems like we all prepared a different cake, but really just have stuck with food. One SIL, made this cake, that after it is done you pour a liquid over it, well the cake was really pretty and soggy. Future SIL, prepared More...

During our gathering, my feet became a major discussion. I have told you about these huge things. My sister, who loves me, fixed me a wonderful foot soak and gave my feet a great foot massage. Then my mother, who I believe does not love me, suggested this medicated lotion she uses. It felt really More...

You are so right Ian--excuse me mom's. Don't listen to my mom. Very hard to do, since she is my mother and supposed to love me and not let any harm come to me.

I think there are two kinds of maternal love. One is bound by duty, by job description, by obligation. It is characterized by fairness, objectivity and generosity, and a sense of what is right and what is needed-- that only the mother can provide.

The other is just the fact that the More...

Plum, I did enjoy reading your poem and its sensitivity to both the grief of death and the joy of resurrection. Jesus Christ also showed us what it is like to live with profound compassionate wisdom.

Plum, my apologies. I should explain that spag bol is spaghetti bolognese (a firm favourite in my household and many others as well).

Happy Easter everyone. The chocolate eggs have been given a good working over by the men in my family. Plenty more though. The Cadbury cream eggs are the favourites, followed closely the the caramellos and the malteser eggs.

I'm feeling a bit better this morning but still feel like my head is full of cotton wool. (Some might say it always has been!)
We are out to a friend for lunch today, 11 of us. I don't think I will be drinking, unless, of course, if I am offered a glass of a good vintage Champagne, but that isn't likely. So Canada Dry, my soft drink of choice, here I come.

I have to take the cheese board to the lunch so I have 3 types of coated cream cheese, 1 with cranberries, 1 raisins and the third dried apricots. A Tomme Noire from the Pyrenees, a Lou Perac Brebis from Aveyron and a Camembert. Some grapes and crackers. That should see them OK

Happy Easter to all. I'm in Alice Springs and though I saw 2 Easter bunnies today (young girls wearing bunny ears) - they didn't leave any choccy eggs for me! And tthe end of that sad story is that although I carefully packed a small pack of small eggs for Mr p and me - I left them in the room fridge of our hotel the night before last!!!
12/Apr/09 9:31 PM
 |  |

Which, I should add, was not the same hotel we were staying in last night. Uluru and Kings Canyon the last 2 nights, Alice tonight, then Darwin until the 23rd - then home!

Well, CP, sounds like if you look in the mirror you'll see another Easter Bunny -- the one who left someone some candy hidden in a hotel fridge.

GMo - you could be my Easter Bunny and leave that cheese tray in MY fridge.

GannieMo - Glad you're feeling better, but if you're not 100% by tomorrow morning, please see a doctor. We care. ♥Jane

Oh how I would love some cheese! This blankety-blank diet is driving me up a wall! But it IS working. I've eaten out three times since I started it and didn't fall off the wagon. Of course, it helps that we live on the coast and have access to tons of great seafood restaurants. No more fried fish or shrimp, however, but broiled and grilled works for me!

I left a post before, and it has inexplicably gone! A note about a book I intend to write. Does anyone know where it went?
