Karen, for a lightweight dome, I would have paper mached a small balloon. Little easier than using straws I would imagine.

How is it a children's activity to do models of places if it takes two parents and a teacher? My mother worked on my idiotic projects because she felt I could spend my time more productively.

I've been playing cards today, but wanted to stop by and check on Serena. Still with us, I see.

It seems you've done all the work on that project, Karen....I hope you get a good grade.

um...Karen...forgive me for sticking my nose in...but was that not an '8-year-old's' project?
12/May/15 6:26 AM

No 8- to-11-year-old could possibly do those projects that teachers dream up. My mother was always annoyed while her kids were in elementary school doing all our projects, but she'd rather waste her own time than have us waste ours.

Uh...Shosho, darling dear, uhm, you are a little late on that really simple solution. I could have...oops...I mean K could have drawn the shapes on there. Duh.

I did say, it was a whole family project for a few hours Saturday morning. K did, throughout the weekend check on me. Made sure I was stocked up on straws and to keep my area clean. I was rewarded this morning with, 'That looks awesome Mom. Thanks,' and a huge hug. This afternoon she told me teacher liked and the kids thought it was awesome.

Sarah, if my mother ever helped me with homework or a project, I would be shocked. She was they type that believed that a clean house was important and we should not waist our time with trivial homework. But if she got a report saying we did not do an assignment our tushes were punished.

Never really thought of it, but the way my mother was about school work, maybe the reason I am. Hardly a day goes by that I am not in some type of contact with a teacher, I do not push the girls to do much after school, other than pick up their clothes and clean up the bathroom after showers, but More...

Oh, one of my darlings, has one of my traits.
M announced, one day, that she hates everyday.
I said, strange, I like everyday that ends in y.
The other girl started spelling the days of the week, and by the time she got to Wednesday, she announced everyday ended in y. I praised that one More...

And if Waits is not your style, you've got to read the lyrics....

That's right, it filets, it chops, it dices, slices,
Never stops, lasts a lifetime, mows your lawn
And it mows your lawn and it picks up the kids from school
It gets rid of unwanted facial hair, it gets rid of More...
