all. How many of you had yesterday (or will have today) corn-on-the-cob? 13/Jun/12 12:10 AM |  |
Good Maen, all! Would have had corn yesterday, Hal, but I was too lazy to go to the store to buy it! Tonight we'll be dining out to celebrate Jaime's birthday, so we'll have to wait until tomorrow to try it!! 13/Jun/12 12:13 AM |  |
In the meantime, I would love to hear from someone who's actually tried that cooking method. Does it work? Will Jaime concede that the microwave oven does a better job than he does? So many unanswered questions. Sigh! 13/Jun/12 12:15 AM |  |

Happy Advancing in Age, Jaime. 13/Jun/12 12:20 AM |  |
Yes Jane, I have cooked COTC that way. It was my first try. My attempts were about like the second effort by the guy in the video... it took me a few shakes to get the corn to come out. But it does come out very clean. I had to remove only a few strands of silk. 13/Jun/12 12:24 AM |  |
I think Jaime will be quite pleased. Oh, yeah... Jaime. 13/Jun/12 12:26 AM |  |
all. I found the microwave method of cooking corn on the cob several years ago, and with few exceptions, have used it ever since. Nuked in the husk and stripped as shown is quick and easy. The only other way I've cooked it is when I want to grill it, but that's for another day. 13/Jun/12 12:40 AM |  |

Before I go I must try Zue's COTC with lemon juice. Sounds good. Maybe cook it in the juices. mmmmmmm 13/Jun/12 12:52 AM |  |

Like Captain J, I've known of that method and used it for some time. I can't remember for sure, but think maybe that video was suggested here some months ago. Anyway, I've nuked, then shucked ears like that several times, with consistent success. How does Jaime do it that's supposedly better than the microwave? 13/Jun/12 1:10 AM |  |

HI all! Mr Cee, Greg and HalT all found the partridge in the pear tree and managed to communicate it to me - the inbox accepted! One for today - answers to the granny inbox please! Granny looked up from her rocking chair and said, 'As far as I can tell, there is only one anagram of the word TRINKET.' What is it? 13/Jun/12 3:00 AM |  |
Keith - Jaime doesn't cook the corn. He shucks the corn before I cook it. He is very fussy about getting every single piece of silk off the corn that he'll spend 10 ot 15 minutes on each ear! This is why I'm so interested in this cooking method - to save him all that work. 13/Jun/12 3:11 AM |  |
...and don't get me started about how fussy he is about vacuuming! 13/Jun/12 3:14 AM |  |
Happy Tuesday!Corn on the cob cooked in the microwave is the way to go! 13/Jun/12 3:43 AM |  |
House news, man we are talking to is out of the office today. That was nice to know. Should be back in the office Thursday afternoon and Friday. 13/Jun/12 3:43 AM |  |
Been doing some day dreaming, while flipping through a Martha magazine. In my dreams, literally, I can prepare all those recipes and they will look just like Martha's, for a back yard, get-to-know-your-neighbor party. It could work. 13/Jun/12 3:45 AM |  |
Now, how long will all of you be laughing? 13/Jun/12 3:46 AM |  |
Good afternoon to all! Few comments on the site today. 13/Jun/12 3:46 AM |  |

Off to deliver a car & pick up another today. 3 hours each way so I won't be back 'till tonight, Have a good day/night all. 13/Jun/12 7:29 AM |  |
Things seem awfully slow today. Perhaps, when Mr Cee, Peter, and Anne roust themselves out of the sack, things will pick up. 13/Jun/12 7:31 AM |  |
CP is out of the sack. 13/Jun/12 7:39 AM |  |
 Too early for Anne - only 5.39 her time. 13/Jun/12 7:40 AM |  |
