Howdy gang!
Didn't make it here yesterday - was at the 'Cat House' cleaning up after our kitties. So many older cats being turned in by their owners. How do people do that? We had a beautiful siamese and a sweet black and white girl - both 13 years old - left with us. We have about 10 other More...

Lots of guesses for PICTURE PUZZLE #15. June, Peter and Captain J all correctly identified the object as a keyhole cover. Shiela carried on a lengthy debate on whether it was a keyhole cover or a peephole cover. She finally decided on peephole cover. Sorry, Shiela. You just missed!! Both More...

I once knew someone who told me she took her 5 year old cat to the shelter because she didn't want to spend money on vet bills as the cat got older. I told her I hoped her family didn't feel the same way about her. I had nothing to do with her after that.

PICTURE PUZZLE #16 has been posted. And, Shiela, if you don't get this one right, I'll be very, very surprised!!! Answers to my Inbox, please.

Better Maen now. I tended to others things first but finally managed to get that sleep cycle in. Now to cross as many things as possible off my TO-DO list as fast as possible ... after I check out the sudoku puzzles as fast as possible.

There is a key hole cover on my mantle clock. It's not ceramic, it's wood. Same idea. Of course, I neglected to send an answer!
I'll go see what Jane has for us today......

But first...

The answer to yesterday's poozle: A door knob.

I think it's time for another load... for winners, Heidi, Captain J, CP, Sarah, Grass-hopper, Mr. Cee, Peter, and Chris!

Hi, I'm back. I could have sent a correct answer of keyhole cover for picture puzzle 15 yesterday (and for Captain J's). I didn't see the piano tuner posted, but would have gotten that. I guess I'm just going to have to send an answer for today's picture puzzle...Done. Now to get moving. Gotta get it all done before having to pick up Little Plum from camp and Faun from the bus stop.

Shiela - I was speedy about the puzzles, but I got sidetracked by a the Goodenia and then by a facebook link to a game called 9 Square in the Air.

2. ed (--) ar
3. dit (--) urch
4. ju (--) eam
5. ran (--) More...

That is so sad, Kathy...I hope the kitty found a much better 'forever home'. The bummer is that a lot of shelters euthanize quite regularly. We don't euthanize for space (and we have a very small shelter in a large community!). Our euthanasia rate is just above %1 - which is rare.
Thank you to all of you out there who ADOPT - not SHOP!

We found our early pets in shelters. The last two found US when we weren't even looking! Bless you for your volunteer work, Vici!

Since hubby will be retiring in two years, we won't get another cat for a while after our 16-year-old diabetic kitty finally 'goes'. We want to travel extensively (with a diabetic cat we have had to put travel on hold) and it would not be fair to have a pet. I have never been without a cat. It'll be hard.

Kudos Vici for volunteering to look after homeless kitties. I so admire people like you. I have two adoptees, and one who found me, at our house. To me, a home is not a home, without a cat.

But I will try a tiny piece of pecan pie. I can't take the sweet gooey part too much. I could go for the pie without that.

When our original kitties passed away (at age 16), we decided to take a break from pets. Two weeks later, 'Chuckers' found us. He passed away (at age 19) six months after we moved to St. Simons. 'Twinky' found us shortly before Chuckers died. So, Shiela, you may think you're going to pet free at some point, but it's not necessarily your decision!!!
