Cold today in Dallas.

Hello, Wolf - it is cold in College Station, also!!
15/Nov/14 12:08 AM
 |  |

, y'all! Yep, Wolf, the cold weather is heading towards SC. We woke up to 45ºF this morning which is fine for a fall morning, but that'll be today's high.

I would hang around and enjoy the quiet, but I should probably get ready for class.

G'day mates.
In keeping with yesterday's banter, here's today's daffynition:
Pun: The lowest form of humour - unless you thought of it first.
Here's today's factoid:
You can lead a cow upstairs, but not downstairs. Cows knees can’t bend properly to walk downstairs.
15/Nov/14 12:24 AM
 |  |
Then it appears, Kayo, that as we age, if we live long enough, we all become cows! Moooo!

Good morning people of the world.
15/Nov/14 12:45 AM
 |  |

Just a fly by for me.
15/Nov/14 12:46 AM
 |  |

Kayo - my knees bend pretty well, but it IS harder for me to go down the stairs than up. That was even more true before my knee surgeries.
I second Judy - Moooooo.

Well, the Texas gang has been around!
15/Nov/14 12:47 AM
 |  |

Jamie and Wolf, it is also cold in MPR.

That is three parts of Texas, in a spread out range, but I would not assume all of Texas is cold.

I don't know, Karen - it was supposed to be below zero out in Fort Davis at my mother's house!

Man has been to your area and Wolf's area this morning, he said it was cold all the way.

Which direction is Fort Davis?

I will try to check back later. If I do not get up now and get my tush in gear, there will be no problem form me to fill up several pages on this site. Then I will be in trouble on the site and at home.

Following up on Kayo's factoid, out in the western US where there's plenty of ranching and barbed wire is in use, local roads have grates across them where property dividing lines are needed. Cows won't cross the grates, and thus gates on the roads aren't needed.
15/Nov/14 12:54 AM
 |  |
And, Silvergal, those grates shake the HECK out of you when you fly across them on your bike! My water bottle popped out last time!

Bright beautiful morning in OK. I forgot the COLD, all of 16F

The change in weather has affected my sinuses. Got an antibiotic yesterday, feeling better today.

I hate it when I don't feel well, make that everyone in the house doesn't like when I am not well.

Upstairs Downstairs
I was a competative runner for 12 years and figured early on that the difference between going up and down is that up takes muscle power and down takes tendon power. You seldom mess up your muscles, but you have to protect your tendons. So... I always passed people More...

And I'll run right up to Keith's 22!
(Hello, Keith! Have a great day!)

When you have nothing to muse about, are you unamused?
15/Nov/14 1:49 AM

Those silly weather people are saying we will have snow tomorrow, don't they know it is too early for that stuff.
15/Nov/14 1:50 AM
 |  |

By the way - I never had any running injuries, but I messed up my ankle (a tendon) permanantly while hiking in the Smokies.

Have to get ready to go to Tulsa in a little while, Harry has an appointment.
15/Nov/14 1:54 AM

Many years ago in high school I ran, only short distances. I have always had a problem with my ankles, after a bad sprain I stopped running.
15/Nov/14 1:57 AM
 |  |

all.
15/Nov/14 2:07 AM

Shiela, thanks for the running insight. I've had pulled something-r-others from pushing too hard running - they were harder to get over than muscle strains.

My favorite story, though, it about the only broken bone I ever had. I took up roller blading in my 30s. Loved it, still do, though I haven't done it for a while. I broke my foot about 13 years ago, not roller blading, but walking with the SilverFamily. Stepped in a pothole. Sneaker stuck, foot tried to come out... the snap was awful to hear and feel.
15/Nov/14 2:36 AM
 |  |

I joked with the orthopedist that I was better off blading. He gave me the Evil Eye and didn't see the humor.

Each statement describes two words that when fused together create a new unrelated word (not a compound word). The clues do not necessarily indicate in which order the two words are attached. Example: This is the average oldness of a tablet (pill + age = pillage).

1) This is a canine's More...

We have a dusting of snow on the ground this morning. Little girl looked out the window and asked how we were going to clean it up.

I'll take this cp and run.

everyone!

Sunny and brisk here today. I'm calling it brisk because I'm inside. Hubby is calling it freezing because he's outside raking leaves.

Good morning to all! The entrance to what I wonder?

It appears that one of the 'vets' interviewed on TV during the Remembrance Day ceremonies was actually someone posing as a veteran. False uniform, wearing un-earned medals. How low can you go!
