As you are an IT whiz-kid, Ian, can you please explain to me how I can 'hide' selected chunks of text within a report, so they are (selectively) omitted from a print-out.

Rayray, lots of options, depending on system, etc.

google "hidden text in word" and then

"hidden text in word printout"

Some are just for the display, some for the printout.

Ray, I'm not sure what software you have for word processing, but you should be able to protect all or some of your reports from printing by putting portions of the text into a PDF format. I am certainly not an expert, but there is a lot of free shareware available that MIGHT help you in this exercise. Check out http://www.ab-archive.com/search.php?kw=protect_from_printing_and_editing Cheers!

2:23 Good morning all. My neighbours had one of these in their garden hanging over my fence, but new owners cut the tree down.
A very wet day here, winter has arrived at last!

Thank you Greg, and it's nice to hear that you are finally having some summer, albeit a very humid one.

Well, as others have said.... rain, rain, rain, rain, rain for most of July. Finally, in mid-August, sun, heat (30 plus) and humidity as the ground is so wet and all the water levels are so high. C'est la vie!

Rayray, I think Greg's link may be a lot more than you were looking for, at least technically. Most of the references involved downloading and using some shareware programs with varying degrees of complexity, and most were designed to keep people from printing something from your webpage, not you More...

Hi all! Just a quick note to say that baby Garrett has been born. Victoria and Gail you both got the date right. He was born today, Aug. 14 at 4:40 pm, weighing 7 lbs. 14.6 oz. Mother and baby are both healthy. I've been at the hospital since 8:30 last night and now it is almost 12 mid night. Thank you for playing the baby guessing game!

If you are angellically hovering or demonically lurking anywhere within hearing distance, I applied you suggestions to hide text - and it WORKS !!
Thanks so much.
I think Greg's advice went rather beyond my immediate need - but it might be useful one day - so; also thanks.

Not my suggestions, Rayray, that site's. As a matter of fact, I did not try it. Did it work in printing a document as well as displaying it on screen? Are there print options which say "Do not print hidden text," or is it simply that an ordinary print command will only print displayed text?
