My bad, I'm sure there's cartoons of adorable calves running loose. I think I'll stay away from In-and-Out! Oh dear, cute little chickies, the kind you see on Easter will not let me visit KFC!

Thank heavens, the only turkeys I've seen are the ones they used to rent to schools before Thanksgiving Day. The ugly white ones whose lower beak exceeds the length of the upper beak. You know the ones I was told would drown in rain because they're so stupid they'd all look up!

I've always thought that turkeys were ... well ... pretty dumb, too ... until this weekend. We are camped up in the San Diego County mountains, enjoying colorful leaves, sunny skies, cool temperatures, and grandchildren! There are huge flocks of wild turkeys running all over the place! It seems More...

Judy - Wild turkeys are smart. It's the mass-produced, hybridized, genetically-altered turkeys that are dumb.

Wild turkeys are not only smarter, but they're also tastier than the mass-produced variety.

We've been trying to herd one of the beasts into the truck to take home with us for ... well, you know ...
Gee, Jane, tell us how you REALLY feel about store-bought turkeys!

Here's an excerpt from a letter from Ben Franklin to his daughter in which he claims the turkey would be a better symbol of the United States than the bald eagle.

“ For my own part I wish the Bald Eagle had not been chosen the Representative of our Country. He is a Bird of bad moral More...

Well, I've been known to cook and eat them, Judy! I do prefer the free-range variety, but since we moved to Georgia I haven't found a local source.

It’s Time -- To Stir The Pot - - - Again…

Wild game means you or someone has to hunt & kill it for you. I know it's not you, so I'm losing all respect for "someone".

Hi All, We are expecting a very hot Monday........and to continue for the rest of the week I think!
Jerry, There is not a lot of 'hunting for table meat' in Australia. I do enjoy my domestically grown meat though.

We get a lot of hunters through here in the season. I have never been keen on the killing of deer for the sake of it but have to admit to enjoying the end product at the 'Repas du Chasse'. Also I have always looked at rabbits and thought"How sweet" but they are doing their best to decimate my rose garden. Sammi does his best but I may resort to a gun........

I guess that would make me a hypocrite because I do enjoy the occasional filet mignon, hamburger, chicken dinner (eat a majority of the time vegetarian meals) but I could not kill a living being. I mean those big soulful eyes of the poor creature would melt my heart and although I salivate at the thought of dinner, I would loath to hold the weapon.
