Been gone for a few days to Branson, Mo, with 19 high school choir members, 3 other parents and a teacher. the creature yesterday looked like one of the boys when he had been sleeping on the bus. Branson has a 'Live On Stage' program that lets amatuer groups be the opening act for regular shows. More...

Nola, second comment on page 2 yesterday, Kevin told us it was an aye-aye. Several people later confirmed that.

Glad to see that others did not care for the caption on today's photo either. Texas Bill, I'm going to have to play again just to see your observations. THAT did give me a chuckle; the caption did not!

Re caption: HUH?
Thanks for the rainbow explanation, Bill. Wonder about the pot of gold at the end...pot of something, maybe

2:40 Maen! I think that the caption-maker would have been smited by Robert the Bruce if he had made that comment to his face...

Gay is a wonderful word. There are times when it is the only word to describe how one feels at the moment. How it came to be hijacked and corrupted to mean something entirely different, used as a pejoritive, used to identify a particular group, is beyond me and I am resentful of its loss as an expressive term of gleeful mirth.

my parents dragged me all over the place looking at stupid statues like these, and that was really gay. the whole trip was really gay.

Morning all, we have hazy breezy day here today. Also the smell of smoke from far away Georgia and Florida forest fires. My kitties are unsetteled, smoke means DANGER to them, and they do not understand this is hundreds of miles away!!

Interesting picture. Pretty Rainbow!

Bill/Texas - Sounds like you had a pretty good time on your trip. I have never been to Branson, Missouri, but I would like to go someday.

Good Morning, Linda. Do you have a nice Birthday?

Thought for the Day:

Aquadextrous, adj.:Possessing the ability to turn the bathtub faucet on and off
with your toes.

The comment was obviously referring to the rainbow, not the statue.

Robert the ??? Too bad they cut off the caption on the pedestal.

Funny one Bill... farted a rainbow!!!

Linda - It is always fun to have a change to the 'old-grind'. I am glad it was a nice day for you.

This is for Outraged from the good old days. The word gay in the 19th century was also used to refer to women who sold their bodies. It's not the first time nor will it be the last that word are 'hijacked.' That is the power of language; it grows and evolves. Shakespeare would be surprised at the evolution of words since his days.

During the choir trip over the weekend we visited several museums and historic sites. Most of the choir members present were the more intelligent students and they really enjoyed reading the notes and taking in the history that was represented. There were a few students that were bored and spent More...

we highjacked the word from the highjackers. now it also means 'really lame' to anybody under 50. it is so gay that you dont know that.

Bill/Texas - Those children who played with their cell phones may have taken in more than you realize. It is amazing how children today can multi-task. What kind of museums did you go to? Were they related to music?

Now who would submit a picture with a comment like that?
Cartman doesn't have two parents, just a mother.

Cartman's parents need to leave him home the next time they take a trip to a wonderful and exciting place like Scotland. How anyone could not enjoy the beauty, enthralling history, and friendly people there is beyond me. Let him stay home with his bad attitude, lame video games, and loser friends.
