everyone! Sunny!!! Trust you all had a wonderful Easter break. 18/Apr/17 12:01 AM |  |
Everyone! See it is quiet so far. Glad Shiela woke up the puzzle! 18/Apr/17 12:14 AM |  |
Good Maen, good people. The earliest trees (early willows) are starting to give off a bright green glow as their leaves are coming on. Maples are all in red bud. Early ornamental hardy magnolias are in bloom. Lawns are looking lush and fresh. 18/Apr/17 12:15 AM |  |
Forsythia, crocuses, hyacinths, daffodils and early tulips are all in bloom, too. Skye picked a large bouquet of daffodils for the Easter table. 18/Apr/17 12:17 AM |  |

 everyone!'Night, Anne. 18/Apr/17 12:56 AM |  |
I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter holiday. It was very quiet around here. Just the two of us. Rather nice, really, but, I prefer the chaos of family. Kids, dogs, bunnies, cats.....certainly make it interesting. 18/Apr/17 1:01 AM |  |
The house next door has been vacant since our neighbor passed away several years ago. The son and daughter check on it occasionally, but, it's looking rather run down. I was annoyed when awakened this morning at 7:00 AM by the sound of a lawn mower. No mowing is allowed on the weekends here More... 18/Apr/17 1:08 AM |  |

 everyone!!! 18/Apr/17 2:09 AM |  |
I remember growing up in suburbia when Saturday morning meant sleeping in, then waking up to the sound of lawnmowers and the smell of newly mown grass (and a bit of small engine exhaust) on the warming breeze blowing in the window, billowing the sheer curtains. I don't suppose heaven smells like that, but the memory is blissful. I love summer sounds and smells. 18/Apr/17 3:01 AM |  |
Nice to see these flowers . Very Springlike. Kate. 18/Apr/17 3:11 AM |  |
The best mown grass smell smell of summer is along the roadways when the county is mowing the bar ditches or meadows are being cut for hay, the smell of cut timothy grass fills the air. 18/Apr/17 4:26 AM |  |
 ...how'd that extra word get in there?? 18/Apr/17 4:27 AM |  |
It's smoke I smell. If I can just stop the guy in our neighborhood from burning all the branches and twigs that fell during the winter... Problem is... he lives at my house!!! 18/Apr/17 4:30 AM |  |
Whew! I finally convinced him that it's such a beautiful day around here that some of the other neighbors may want to open their windows! (Thanks, 'other' neighbors!) 18/Apr/17 4:52 AM |  |
It's illegal to burn within the city limits here so the city will pick up bundled leaves and dead fall and take them to the city compost lot or you take them yourself and the resulting compost is available to anyone who wants it. 18/Apr/17 6:32 AM |  |
I came home from coffee one morning and the FD was at my neighbor's house. He had a pile of leaves lit off in his back yard. It's a stone wall surround so he thought it would be OK. They were nice about it and gave him a warning. 18/Apr/17 6:34 AM |  |
Morning all, beautiful flowers that attracts the birds and bees.LOL Shiela, makes it easier to complain when the offender lives at your place. 18/Apr/17 7:00 AM |  |
We're not in city limits, but live in a township that allows burning - if you call the fire department first. They only limit burning when there are dry conditions. We are allowed 'ceremonial fires' (can be campfires!) without calling. 18/Apr/17 7:14 AM |  |
 Hello Keith! Hope you've had a wonderful day! 18/Apr/17 7:14 AM |  |
Happy belated Easter & Passover greetings to all.. we're on our return from a luscious 10 days enjoying North Carolina spring/summer temps. Of course we experienced winter to reach NC with 2 days of snow & icy mix through West Virginia. Now it's a Spring-rewind & only 1/2 way there, home tomorrow. Missed all the Sudoku chatter while gone! 18/Apr/17 8:22 AM |  |

Lousy time, but that is one sexy flower! 18/Apr/17 12:34 PM |  |
Lovely native flower and beloved by all the native birds etc. All except me. If I get too near they make me itch!I have my grand daughter here tonight and she asked if she could cook dinner. We are having Teriyaki Chicken. This is what she cooked for her Scout cooking badge but outside on an open fire. Laura is eleven. 18/Apr/17 7:05 PM |  |
We all enjoyed our Teriyaki Chicken dinner. Tomorrow we are off to the Blue Mountains for a few days. We will be back on Friday. We have packed some warm clothes as it is a bit cooler up there, especially at night. 18/Apr/17 9:33 PM |  |
Great cooking job, Laura. I'm a better than average cook, but I don't know how to go about making chicken teriyaki outside over an open fire! I've never tried anything like that before. Maybe I could learn and make it for a family reunion we hold in August at a riverside campsite? If you don't More... 18/Apr/17 11:03 PM |  |
