I too grew up with that saying and have used it with my kids and grands Kathy. Sorry you feel so badly, but remember there is always next year...is that working for you yet? It never did with me either! Anew, as I've sais before, we have a lot in common. Glad you are learning that if you don't take care of yourself, no one else will. Hey Ed, what are you doing to poor coal???

Nurn and Jamie...go to bed now, its okay! Sleep well.
 |  |
No one should ever feel bad when it comes to understanding what I'm talking about. Barb has had a puzzled look for 35+ years.
 |  |
ED, not only do I not have any of your recommended albums....I've never heard of them that I know of....but I do know about James Brown at the Apollo! Wow!
 |  |

Ed - You are amazing. I've never even heard of most of those NAMES let alone heard their MUSIC!! I enjoyed my phone chat with Barb today. Please tell her thanks again for the call & for the information she gave me. So what did you & the dog have for dinner - ha ha!!
 |  |
I heard that the absolute midpoint of middle age is when you are too young to take up golf but too old to rush the net!

Happy New Year Everyone!

PS I am no longer even on the court let alone rushing the net!
 |  |

Mamacita - you & I were typing just about the same thing at the same time! Glad at least Penn State & Wisconsin won today. Joe Pa will have good memories of his trip to Tampa!
 |  |

Oh Carol - there you are!! I've been wanting to get in touch with you about getting together when Suzanne comes to FL in Feb. Would you please send Ed an e-mail, & he'll give you my e-mail address. His is baysbestbev@tampabay.rr.com

Kathy, Judy, and all others feeling blue -- sorry the blues didn't GO on to win ...
Mamacita, congrats for your team.
Look what you all have done to me -- I raced home tonight to turn on my computer MSNBC Sports (!!!!!) to check out college football scores !!!!!!! Who would ever of thunk it?

To Judy @ Bedigo

Yes we did Judy. I dont remember a prolonged thunderstorm like that ever! It went on for about 3 hours, we got about 5cm of rain but we sistained no damnage. Some parts of town got hail - but not us - just the bushland runoff forming a river through our back yard!

If flattery gets you nowhere, try bribery.

gotta love the Sudoku! and G'day to Fiona. How's France?
 |  |
I know everyone knows this band. The Beatles Love Album is quite good.
 |  |
Ed, I've heard of Bob Dylan and Tom Waits, that's all. When singing the bedbug song my brother and I would add 'ouch' at the end. It's 10 PM and I've got to be at work at 7 AM tomorrow and get out quietly. My wife's a teacher and she'll be asleep and my 16 year old will have just gone to sleep when I get up at 5:30.

looks like more rain on the way - but Warburton is copping it a the moment. Do we have anyone from Warburton here on site?

Sorry Rose - still none for you (but Dargo might get a bit more)
 |  |

Col
Warburton is not far from Mickey
and no .... sadly none for us again. but the fire areas have had a lot and am hearing that it has substantially reduced the fire threat through the mountains. also hope it may get the water catchment areas if nothing else.

Happy New Year. There is still 1 hour left of Jan. 1 here. Hope all had a great celebration.

I have great news to share, Tahsa, my oldest (of 2) daughter called to say she is now engaged. We are very excited, he's a wonderful young man. We chose to stay home and watch the fireworks and More...

Kathy, My mom said it to me when I was little. I said it to my girls, too when they were little. But I remember the first time I said it to my youngest, She was really scared, and it took a little convincing that it was just a saying. Maybe they will say it to their kids when they start having families.
 |  |
Kathy, I hope you feel better soon. Bad (not bed) bugs are going around. Mamacita 2, Hope you had a good New Years Eve.
 |  |
Col, I can relate to the rain. Nov. was the wettest in recorded history here. Now it has been pouring most of the day and it looks like it may keep up for a whole week. But it does keep our state of Washington green.
 |  |
Well it is late. I just stopped by to see what is happening and to say hi. Have a great 2007 everyone.
 |  |

Hi, here in WA 2006 was the driest year on record. Dams at 28%. It is raining at the moment but we need lots more.
 |  |

1:41 on a VERY slow computer - maybe that's the trick!

Lovely hibiscus - reminds me of my childhood (I grew up in Fiji before it became the political mess it is now.)
 |  |

Yeah Kathy, we had the bed bugs rhyme, also ''Nitey-nite, sweet repose. All the fleas and no bed clothes!''
 |  |

Off to bed, hopefully no fleas or bed bugs!!

Gath has let me know that we will get a special health and fitness page to share but it wont be till after he returns from holidays on the 8th. Until then use your own pages or you can share my page if you want to.
cheers ... with water .... to all those that are trying to change their lives by improving their health and fitness.

We said the rhyme too but just 'Don't let the bugs bite' which covers a multitude. My son says it to his girls too.
Regarding bugs Steve came home from NYE with an awful one and I had him breathing over a bowl of boiling water containing Tea Tree oil yesterday(couldn't find eucalyptus)He More...
 |  |
We also said the rhyme and another variation, probably learnt in the school playground, which was: 'night, night, sweet repose,
half the bed and all the clothes.'
 |  |
Now that my brain's thinking of these rhymes, the complete one we used was:
'Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite.
If they bite, squeeze them tight and they won't bite another night!'
 |  |
em you brought it all back we said that last bit too.
A bit like
A pinch and a punch it's the first of the month, and no returns.
Response- A punch and a kick for being so quick.
I think there was more but this old brain can't remember.
Looking back it' wasn't really a very nice thing to do was it?
