Echidnas don't have a pouch, they make a pouch by rolling skin & baby is rolled into there! When the baby get's too big Mum buries the baby/babies. So if mum gets disturbed or captured her babies might die. I got all this information when I found ab Echidna in my back yard!! The moral of the story More...

The moral of the story is - if you find an Echidna in your yard do NOT try to move it, you might get injured, but that is only a minor incident. The puggles might starve if mum doesn't find them! She will keep walking till she gets back to her kids., & if she is removed she will still keep walking to find her babies...

How do I know this ... because we had an Echidna in our yard & I didn't know what I should do about it, except keep Ralph - the Kelpie - out of the way. He was very obedient & didn't go near the Echidna! Anyway WIRES said 'Do not try to move it just don't have any pets near by..'

Hi Everyone....I'm back after having no t.v, phone or computer for four days due to the storm, service was restored yesterday. We were lucky though compared to many, fierce winds, rain, lots of downed trees and loss of power several times with no communication with family until my very bright kids More...
