02/Jun/08 12:14 PM

Sorry Jim, I don't know anyone who collects beer cans - except to drink, of course.

A beautiful, very wet day here in Brisbane. Lots and lots of delightful rain and some is even going into our dams!!! Of course with so much rain, parts of the "Sunshine" coast are flooding. More...

If you planted them, would they grow into new sheep?

Hi! I had a wonderful day at the Getty Museum with Jano/Lebanon and her family! I have downloaded pics of this lovely family! This site attracts the most incredible members as I have found in the past few months, getting to meet them in person.

About four years ago, I was running in the Revlon 5K and at the start with 50,000 runners/walkers, a very crowded start, a girl fell right in front of me! I couldn't go around her, was hemmed in tightly, so all I could do was trip over her. I sailed over her and slammed onto the pavement. I More...

Of course a race later and a few months of pain, went to see an orthopedic specialist who said a bone graft was needed. OUCH! They had to saw through my leg bone to get to the ankle bone. Three months of teaching from a wheel chair and a year of humiliating physical therapy, I'm finally running 5K again this year!

I can't believe how common it is to spin in mid air!

Hi Linda, is it very wet at your place? I'm tucked in very cosily at work but will have to brave the elements again to go home.

Haven't seen you around for quite awhile, Jim. I don't collect cans, I have a pretty broad collection of beer bottle labels from microbreweries from all over the country. I did consume the contents to get the labels in case someone wants to accuse me of getting them the easy way. I have found that the IPA brews are harder for me to choke down but I'll give any product of the art a fair chance.

Heidi, yes I have 2 large pins in a leg bone and 2 small ones holding a bone graft in place on my ankle bone. I haven't set off any alarms at the airport and at a hospital.
Jeb if anything you are definitely a fair man!!!

Mamacita, is it too late for me to join the party? I'll bring some guacamole and chips! Hey I'll bring the tabbouleh! Jano gave me the recipe and scolded me because the last time I made it I was still eating it four days later. Jano said you eat it the first and possibly the second but not for any more after that!!!

When my son was hit by a truck (he was on his motorcycle) he broke his leg in 32 places. The used a hoffman brace on him.. The rods go thought the leg and hold the bones somehow.. It was a new procure in those days. and had to be changed several times. He still has his leg, but it's 3 inches shorter than the other and i't hard on his broken hip.
