I thought i'd try to lighten the mood a little bit. I have been glued to the news all morning with Larry, and my thoughts are withh all those affected (including my Best Friend Kirra). |  |
Guther decided to go skiing with his buddy, Yurtie. They loaded up Guther's mini van and headed north. After driving for a few hours, they got caught in a terrible blizzard. They pulled into a nearby farm and asked the attractive lady who answered the door if they could spend the night. 'I More... |  |
'Don't worry,' Gunther said. 'We'll be happy to sleep in the barn. And if the weather breaks, we'll be gone at first light.' The lady agreed, and the two men found their way to the barn and settled in for the night. Come morning, the weather had cleared, and they got on their way. They More... |  |
It took him a few minutes to figure it out, but he finally determined that it was from the attorney of that attractive widow he had met on the ski weekend. He dropped in on his friend Yurtie and asked, 'Yurts, do you remember that good-looking widow from the farm we stayed at on our ski holiday More... |  |
'Yes,' Yurtie said, a little embarrassed about being found out. 'I have to admit that I did.' 'And did you happen to use my name instead of telling her your name?' Yurtie's face turned red and he said, 'Yeah, sorry, buddy. I'm afraid I did. Why do you ask?' 'She just died and left me everything.' (And you thought the ending would be different, didn't you?) |  |

New to site. Had to google Maen to get definition. How very clever you all are. Enjoying the site but cannot come near your times with a laptop and no mouse. Travelled to Australia and love your country. Be safe. |  |
good maeN all! new to this site - but loving every minute of it. happy week everyone! :) |  |
1.45 pm We're all safe with no threats of further wind damage here, just the possibility of flooding if the rain continues. Dive boats have not been operating since at least yesterday morning, and Cairns has not been badly damaged. Innisfail copped the brunt of it, and Larry has weakened but is More... |  |
3:03Understand TNQ is now safe if a little waterlogged. Hope the clean up goes okay guys. Havn't seen an entry by Cat Lady today but the picture would fit. Is it 'our' Cat Lady? |  |
been no loss of human life and no people reported missing. Our entire back yard is coated in leaves from all over the neighbourhood, branches are down and there's water in the streets from local rain which drains away as the rain eases periodically. Thank you all for your kind thoughts and More... |  |
Susan: glad to hear that you are alright. As you can see, many toughts were turned your way since last night. Hope the rest of our aussie friends make out as well as you have. Take care... |  |

Great to hear that all is 'well- ish' Susan. I'm glad that you missed the brunt of it. |  |
 you too Jenni |  |
Thanks to Jaz & Fi for your comforting words. So glad there was no loss of life, now just comes the cleanup. We experienced 3 floods last June so know how that goes. Haven't heard from our son yet, but I am sure he is hunkered down somewhere or helping with cleanup. Just hard to be so far away. Glad everyone is okay. |  |
Susan & Jenni, very glad to hear all is OK. Like others, have been keeping close ear to the radio today. Will also be very glad when Jo comes back on line and tells us that all is OK with her. Wendy, lovely joke! |  |
Thanks for your thoughts every one. Were fine up here, no wind damage and not much rain. On the eastern side of Australia generally the worst of the weather is to the south of the cyclone so with a catagory 5 coming in I was definitly think of you Susan. Glad to hear you are ok. Still no TV coverage up here so no real news of Innisfail or further inland as yet. |  |
My mind is like a fog. Such is life. So it goes. Ive basically been doing nothing to speak of. |  |

It is incredible the amount of good wishes that have been posted. Thanks to everyone, especially Emma for remembering me! this morning. I feel so sad for Innisfail. It is a very interesting, beautiful place with Art Deco buildings. luckily no one seems to have been fatally injured. The only good More... |  |
