Today's TFTD was perfect, Doug, since it's rather dreary outside my window.
A day of rain expected.

See if you can figure out the words in this 'pyramid' using the hints given below. Each new word contains the same letters as the previous word, plus a new letter. Order need not be preserved.

1) Third letter of the English language
2) Calcium
3) Vehicle
4) Ethnic Group
5) More...

I am being dedicated again. Up in the middle of the night doing the puzzles. Actually I was having trouble getting to sleep. I have to play in a bowls competition this morning so I really do need some sleep!

Serena, I was stumped by yesterday's rebus puzzle. I don't think I ever would have come up with that answer.
20/Mar/14 2:00 AM

Yea, I stared at that rebus for a while, and ... drew a blank.

everyone!

So simple when you see the answer. I had, ''It's at the end of the line''. Made perfect sense to me!

No Keith, you didn't draw a blank. Serena drew the blank.

We are expecting a ''tree doctor'' to come and give us an estimate for trimming the big maple tree in the front yard. Some large branches hang over the driveway. It is not acceptable that the birds have a direct shot at my new car, so adios branches! I want to get it done before the birds finish building nests and lay eggs. I love the birds, I just don't want them decorating my car.

Kathy: Our driveway is on a flight pattern between a Mulberry tree in the hedge row and a large Maple in our back yard. When the Mulberry tree has fruit season I always park in the garage!

This from CynB to Jane and Kathy:

''Jane and Kathy, hope your day on Rottnest Island was wonderful. So looking forward to meeting you both tomorrow on your long stopover here in Brisbane on the way to Cairns. Broni and I will be there to meet you when your plane lands at 2.05pm''.

The adventure continues!

Hal, to answer your comment from yesterday, part of me felt slighted, but a much larger part felt smug that I'd gotten off easy again for another year.

Mariane, sorry if I missed your question before. Yes, there will be flooding in various areas of the whole country and in parts of the Ottawa Region. We usually break up the ice on the Ottawa River with explosive blasts to ensure the water will run through, but low lying areas around the river More...

Thank you everyone for your birthday wishes, Mum has had a great day.
Dottie R, Mum still hasn't got her full strength back after the hospital visit so was a bit worn out , she asked me to take her home so she could have a rest before dinner.

I sent Serena my answers but never saw Message Sent, twice, so maybe she got them, maybe not. I keep seeing not much more than the circle going round and round, instead of whatever I wanted to see on webpages.

My father will be 91 on Friday. With a birthday in February, my mother is already 91, 37 days older than her husband. Not quite a cougar. Funny how now the web is working, only for these pointless comments, not for things I wanted or needed to do.

Well, ok, I might as well keep going since I suddenly have sustained internet access.
