Good morning, all. I always serve pumpkin-cranberry bread with breakfast on Thanksgiving morning. We also have two cranberry sauces with the turkey, one homemade and one (for tradition's sake) out of the can. 21/Nov/11 2:41 AM |  |
Welcome Ali, Elainevt and Banooneda to Sudokuland. Hope you make many new friends. 21/Nov/11 2:47 AM |  |
I have made cranberry sauce, but my family are tried and true cranberry-jelly-from-a-can elitists. When my kids were little I was told they wanted the cranberry without the "bones". 21/Nov/11 2:51 AM |  |
Hi Linda, I really didn't know that they carried cans on the Mayflower. Thank you for that really useful piece of information. 21/Nov/11 2:52 AM |  |
And for today.... Farmer Ben has a turkey farm. He has ten turkeys. One night a wolf eats all the turkeys. In the morning Farmer Ben still has one bird left. How can that be? Answers to the "Wolfy gobbled up the turkeys?" inbox, please. 21/Nov/11 2:54 AM |  |
Kathy, my family is like yours - they like the canned cranberry sauce. I don't even know why I bother to make the homemade, except that it looks so pretty - and it really is yummy. 21/Nov/11 3:01 AM |  |
 Kathy, That poozle sucked. 21/Nov/11 3:03 AM |  |
What sound does a space turkey make? Hubble, hubble, hubble. 21/Nov/11 3:05 AM |  |
Why do turkeys always go "gobble, gobble"? Because they never learned good table manners! 21/Nov/11 3:05 AM |  |
Q: If the Pilgrims were alive today, what would they be most famous for? A: Their age! 21/Nov/11 3:05 AM |  |
Kathy -- White Castle sliders got their name for a different reason in Chicago ! always popular as a late night snack after being out at the bars -- they seem to help things "slide" out of the body 21/Nov/11 3:06 AM |  |
Hi Linda, I do not like canned cranberry sauce (in the UK, turkey is now a traditional Christmas meal) - as you know, we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK. My wife does a lovely, yummy cranberry sauce, and so we would never even consider getting that sauce in a can. 21/Nov/11 3:07 AM |  |
and if you wanted a gallbladder attack -- go to Prince Castle --- they also had the square ice cream scoops in 3 high -- purple, orange and lime sherbet -- 21/Nov/11 3:08 AM |  |
the cranberry sause - made -- is better on sandwiches, as the canned - is to slippery and tends to be pushed out of the sandwich when you bite into it. 21/Nov/11 3:09 AM |  |
 oh, the joys of youth ..... 21/Nov/11 3:10 AM |  |
Neil - I'm with you on the cranberry sauce, but for some reason my family expects canned cranberry sauce to appear. What does your wife put in hers? I flavor mine with a bit of orange and bake it instead of boiling. The cranberries end up looking like beautiful jewels and taste wonderful. I'm More... 21/Nov/11 3:29 AM |  |
Happy Sunday!Alas, Hubby likes the jellied cranberry sauce out of the can ("with the ridges") but I like the homemade sauce with the cinnamon stick, whole cloves and allspice to jazz it up! 21/Nov/11 3:30 AM |  |
