We're going to the Big Island this time, last time 4 years ago was Kauai, kayaking, hiking, Waimea Canyon, solitary beaches. Staying on the Kona Coast and will see all: the volcanoes, waterfalls, luau (hard to spell), and a condo as big as my house! Nice to have my travel partner willing to spend the $$ - it's our Christmas gift to each other!

Think someone said they did make the movie, but I have not seen it. Many times movie versions are disappointing. Congrats to you for 28 years of teaching - amazing! Teaching is a VERY challenging job for very low pay. My daughter is only a beginner in her third year now, but so far is enjoying it. Spends lots of time & her own money on things for her students & classroom.

I've loved all the kids, first grade is the best, hardest - I'm right there with them as they master reading first, no child left behind, you know! I still teach phonics, read to them with my show voices, give hugs, and help them know they are precious!!! and to work hard!!! The math is so much More...

10 years off to raise the boys, get them into school), was in such awe of the good teachers (my master teacher was a former nun, passed away last year, I'd kept in touch with her) - and became one of the 'go-to' teachers. Our break started last Friday - a whole week off! What grade? You can see I've got the little ones. They were oh so antsy in expectation, but since this is my last one with my own class I was reminding myself to enjoy enjoy enjoy! It's all about the kids!

Hello Kathy! I am currently in Buckley (a small stoplight between Cadillac and Traverse City) so 'Up North' but I grew up in the 'burbs of Grand Rapids...have family over in Ann Arbor, also Midland, Saginaw, Paw Paw...you name it :)
