And now we are here. 22/Jan/11 10:35 AM |  |
Good Maen All - haven't posted for ages but been doing the easy and medium when I have time. I take so long on the others, I definitely don't have time to do them. After reading posts about NA weather I will stop complaining abot Hobart's non summer. At least there is sunshine although only three days seem to have gone above 70F. 22/Jan/11 10:42 AM |  |
29YO son rang this week to say he has chicken pox. After we stopped laughing we did commiserate. Says he felt awful but is on road to recovery now. Says it worries him that it might affect his reproductive capacity. We told him it would save surgery costs for a vasectomy. 22/Jan/11 10:46 AM |  |
Elder daughter is in Hokkaido skiing. It's tough at the top. Hope they save a few pennies to maintain their aged parents in the twilight home. 22/Jan/11 10:50 AM |  |
Mrs S went to the doctor yesterday and has been diagnosed with bursitis in shoulder. She is in great pain and needs medication to sleep but can't get into the specialist for a fortnight. 22/Jan/11 10:52 AM |  |
Hi JackieHow are you adjusting to the warmth downunder. Hobart will be a rude shock so bring your winter woolies. Hope to see you while you are here. 22/Jan/11 10:55 AM |  |
Watched the Ronnie Corbett Christmas Special on You Tube. Hope I'm that good when I'm 80. If you want to see it just type in The 1 Ronnie. It's in four parts so start at the beginning. Most people of my age will appreciate the segment where he has problems with his Blackberry. 22/Jan/11 10:58 AM |  |
And it good bye from me. 22/Jan/11 10:59 AM |  |
Just went back to read yesterday and noticed the Phantom's question. Had several horses running at Burnie yesterday (none successfully) so missed the cricket. Did see the English innings on TV however. Too little too late. Do like that dark green outfit however. Really goodbye this time. 22/Jan/11 11:07 AM |  |

A young Canadian chap just won his game in the tennis against a Russian chap. By the sounds of it, he's doing better than the Ottawa Senators in the ice hockey. 22/Jan/11 2:09 PM |  |
 What a clever young Canadian Chappie 22/Jan/11 3:16 PM |  |
Salz, thoughts to Mrs S, my mother had bursitis in her hip and it's very painful. The treatment was a hip replacement (after years of steriod injections) and I'm wondering how they'd do a shoulder replacement. 22/Jan/11 3:39 PM |  |
Yep, going to be a big day and night for missy CP. Confirmed total count for tomorrow is 14 so far, must check how many we had for Ian and Keith? 22/Jan/11 3:45 PM |  |

Hope she recovers without the need for surgery. 22/Jan/11 4:46 PM |  |
Trust the Poms, they don't even know when Austalia Day is. Trust you'll be going Grass-hopper."In association with the Australia Shop, The Ace Cafe London in London will be holding a Vegemite vs Marmite taste off challenge as part of their annual Australia Day celebrations on Sunday, 23rd January." 22/Jan/11 5:01 PM |  |
Typical poms. And comparing vegimite to marmite is like comparing honey to golden syrup.Look similar but thats it. 22/Jan/11 5:11 PM |  |
 Vegemite wins hands down 22/Jan/11 5:14 PM |  |
So how about a joke for Australia Day:-An Australian and his wife were sitting in the living room and he said to her, "Just so you know, I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug." His wife got up, unplugged the TV and threw out all of his beer. 22/Jan/11 5:14 PM |  |
And since we have Brits, Canucks, Yanks and Aussies on the site:-Americans: Seem to think that poverty and failure are morally suspect.Canadians: Seem to believe that wealth and success are morally suspect.Brits: Seem to believe that wealth, poverty, success, and failure are More... 22/Jan/11 5:18 PM |  |
