I'm not usually one for posting warnings about potential scams but I had a close call yesterday.

I walked into Bunning's hardware at lunchtime and some guy dressed in a red shirt with a green apron on asked me if I wanted decking.

Fortunately, I got the first punch in and sorted the More...

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well.

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

The donkey later came back, and bit the farmer who had tried to bury him. The gash from the bite got infected and the farmer eventually died in agony from septic shock.

Lovely pic Anne. I'm stopping in briefly to say hello to everyone before I head back into the woods. Those of you who have wished me good luck for our deer hunting season.....keep hoping for me please. While I have seen some deer, I have not had an opportunity, yet. For those of you wishing More...

Hope all my US "Sudokuzzins" have a wonderful Thanksgiving. We'll be celebrating with friends, so I don't have much cooking to do. I'll be contributing an orange-cranberry relish and one of my favorite desserts - a low-fat (honest), low-sugar (honest) pumpkin cheesecake!

2:12 Raining here--a miserable, chilly day. Today would have been my mother's 86th birthday, so I think I'll throw her a virtual party. You're all invited. I'll start things off with a platter of cabbage rolls--no one made them better than mom. Let me know what you're bringing and the loved one you're honouring.

Cathy - how nice! I'll bring a bottle of chardonnay, my late mother's favorite wine - she had a glass (or two) on her 90th birthday - 2 and a half months before she passed away.
