FOOD QUESTION - MAINLY FOR AUSTRALIANS I'm a foody and was just reading a food blog about Bad Christmas Food (OK, so I need to get a LIFE). An Australian posted that the worst Christmas food was sweet potatoes baked with marshmellows. After the initial posting several other Australians More... |  |
If love makes the world go round, then today's picture is proof it's still turning. |  |
Barbara : My hubby and I love baked sweet potatoes but have never heard of them done with marshmellows, please tell me how?? |  |

Baked sweet potatoes are amazing with marshmallows. You prepare them like normally, and then add some marshmallows maybe a minute before they're done cooking. it melts them and they make a nice snowy covering.that's how my family does it anyway. very tasty. |  |
Barbara - The sweet potato/marshmallow dish is not common here in Australia. Australian tastes tend to be more savoury than sweet. I have had the dish and although I liked it, it is not a favourite. |  |
 I had a question for y'all and I've forgotten it - I think I have CRAFT disease. |  |
3:20 Hi to all. Nicole and Partner, lovely smiling photo. Thought for the Day: When you stop believing in Santa Claus you get underwear for Christmas. |  |
2:19 Planning my Christmas menu today and doing the grocery shopping. On Saturday the cooking frenzy begins. Enjoy the festivities, everyone. |  |
Thanks Dad for leaving the chatroom when you did.Much appreciated. |  |
Hugh, I'm still laughing. I think you might have caught it from me. Me and my 19 second graders. |  |

Barbara, I've never heard of it, and agree with Hugh that Aussies tend to go for savoury items as part of the main course.Lovely pic of Nicole and Matt. I'm still waiting to hear whether Nicole used her beads as planned during labour, or tried to choke him with them! lol |  |
Wishing everyone in Sudokuland a wonderful, wonderful Christmas and may the New Year be peaceful and happy and filled with chocolate xx |  |
What is it about the CRAFT disease? |  |
Not my chocolate of course |  |
and what happened to your new year's resolution to share it around André???? Well we can live in hope. What about a sweet potato with marshmallows and chocolate sauce? Eeeeeeek! The French would have a fit! |  |
Good morning all. Beautiful morning here. 25F. Not much snow, but that's OK. |  |
rainy, gray and 36 here in the Miami of Minnesota. I see we have a youpper with us, Hi J.J.! |  |
Good Morning to all! It will be a snowless Christmas in Ohio, unseasonably warm temps. |  |
We just learned this week that my son received an OP3 rating for university entrance, which is the highest in his school. As billy et al would say WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!Ratings are from 1 to 25 for those who qualify, with I think the top 6% in our state getting 3 or More... |  |
How good to hear from Amber and a-one again! I guess Amber will have to put her fabulous shoes away for a while when those twins she's carrying start to really make their presence felt. andré, be nice! You know that (your) chocolate was meant to be shared around. |  |
looks like someone needs a shave and haircut for Christmas |  |
AMELIA - I love baked sweet potatoes too! And when I fix them that way they are a savory - butter, salt and pepper at the table complete them. The recipe below is what I use as an alternate to baking them. It has both yams/sweet potatoes and peaches - always do on Thanksgiving and Christmas - More... |  |
I didn't explain the 'for those who qualify' did I? Only students (normally the average to high achievers) who are looking to study at uni or are curious as to what rating they could get, sit for the required exam which combines with school results over the previous 2 years to form a rating, so the top 6% is only out of those, not out of all senior students in the state. Clear as mud? |  |
