 My understanding is that the oil in your car doesn't break down, but gets dirty. The oil filter can handle large particles, but the smaller particles will pass through and wear engine parts from excessive friction. Changing the oil and filter will prevent problems.  Mary, We've never been to France, but the traveling we have done has been greatly enhanced by using the 'Lonely Planet' travel guides. They are chock full of helpful information. We have a substantial library of them now and they are fun to look back to when memories begin to fade. |  |
