Love crab apple blossom.

Egads. What weather today! Tornado warnings to our SW, with those storm cells heading our way today. Blizzard warnings to our WNW over the northern plains. I preferred Indian Summer. Bummer.

I neer really took time to look closely at a crab apple blossom. Never had a crab apple tree.

Pear, Peach & Plum Blossoms I've enjoyed.

Windy here, Plum! Hold on to your hats, coats, socks...!

We have tornado warnings and high wind advisories here, Plum. It's a bit unnerving.

We also have government men here, out digging holes in one of our cow pastures. They're doing a statewide soil survey, and they chose our farm to represent the county.

You want to talk high winds?? Last night, we received an email and photos from a neighbor still remaining up near our cabin. 140 mph wind gusts ripped through the pass behind Mammoth Mountain and blew a huge, live pine tree onto the roof of our cabin! He sawed it in half to get it to More...

You've got a good neighbor there, Judy. Most folks would have left the tree there for the owners to remove.

Something as simple as a cool breeze can turn into a wicked wind! How dare it???

A huge flock of migrating birds - don't know what kind - just flew and swirled around our house, a small percentage settling briefly in some larger trees before continuing on their way. They're heading straight into the storm. Poor things. There must have easily been 300-400 in the flock. Probably more.

Not there, Heidi, fortunately. Residents of our cluster of 12 cabins hidden in the forest all help each other out. If our neighbor wasn't still there, no one might have noticed the tree on the roof ... add the weight of all that snow, and in the Spring our beloved little cabin might have been flatter than a pancake. Scary.

HI all! Sorry to hear about the gods choosing your cabin Judy! You have to remember that what you get over there usually finds its way to us over here in about a week, so I won't be so smug next week!

Greg, Heidi and Glenn were the only ones to solve yesterday's riddle. Patti said she had the answer but I didn't see it in my inbox! Should we give her the benefit of the newbie doubt? Anyway I wanted a smile as the answer!

Here's tody's one - answers to the "it's a sunny day in my corner of the world" inbox please!

In this teaser your job is to try and discover a shorter word within the given word that relates to the theme. The word must be an extension of the 'theme' word. The letters of the hidden More...

It's so good to see the Phantom, even without his scintillating summaries, sticking with us! One has to wonder, however, with that huge, padded paw ... how in the World is he ....? and how does he manage to ...? Boggles the brain.

oh how sad - the world cup octopus has died - remember the one who correctly predicted the winners of the football world cup back in June? Now that is sad.

I'm back after a great, if exhausting, week. Granddaughter and friend are safely back in Texas, and the shotgun has been secured.
