Mamacita2: You are too kind.
All retirees (especially retired teachers): I'm having back-to-school stress...and I'm not going back to school!!! My husband says that last night I scolded a second grader in my sleep! I retired this past June so this is my first year of not going to school. Many of More...

NASCAR all the way for me. I also enjoy a t-ball game in the summer when my kids are playing, and an occasionally high school football game.

Chalkboard: lol...still scolding huh? Seems you have a habit of doing until you can't stop huh? Why don't you do a little mentoring or get involved in activities at your church or senior center. Start a craft project...take a cruise, help in a friend's classroom for an hour or two and then see how More...

The only interesting or strange thing I have to say about a sporting fanatic is my Dad painted our house (when I was a child) dark blue, light blue and yellow. These were/are the colours of Norths Rugby League in Brisbane. We lived just around the corner from the club and field and on Saturdays More...

Had a lovely night last night. Went out to dinner with Nicole and Scott (just the three of us)to celebrate Nicole's birthday last weekend. We just talked and talked and Nicole has stayed the night here with 'Foo' their border collie. I love it when the three of us get together, we can talk about anything and everything and it has been a while. Brings us closer together.

Mamacita2: Thank you for your response. Interestingly, I was not a 'scolding' type teacher. My students always thought I was the funniest teacher around--probably because I act like a kid myself. Our art teacher and I have planned to continue the sewing projects together so I will still be involved More...

Wow! We've missed you Aussies! Ah, Baz? Nope. It just keeps going DOWNhill from here, mate. So you can keep growling through those fake fangs while we reach under that wolf suit and snatch some wool off your little lamb bum OR you can tell us your ''favorite SPOT'' or some other point of enlightenment before the site hits absolute rock bottom!!!

The ball is in Baz's court.

What a beautiful beach in the picture today. Any comments on where I could find this piece of paradise??

4:22 Good maEn all.

I enjoy just about all sports, not much into basketball however. I thoroughly enjoyed the little I got to see of the Little League championships. I played baseball, golfed and raced motorcycles when I was younger (much). I'm paying for that now!

I like the OSU More...

The Retirement Dinner

A priest was being honored at his retirement dinner after 25 years in the parish. A leading local politician and member of the congregation was chosen to make the presentation and give a little speech at the dinner. He was delayed, so the priest decided to say his own More...

Maybe Baz had tomorrow's topic - favorite SPOTS would be good, would it not? Except maybe it would need to be favorite 'spot' - no fair giving lists of spots.
CHALKBOARD - my wife retired 3 years ago after 30 years of third grade and kindergarten. She went in the first few weeks and helped out More...

Favorite sport to watch: Jayhawk basketball (KU)
Fair weather Denver Bronco's fan. We have Rockies tickets (5 this year), but it's not the same as the early seasons with Andres, Vinnie, Larry, and Dante.
Favorite sport to do: Downhill skiing.
Chalkboard, where are you from in Kansas?

So the Aussies have been unable to access the site? We just thought that you had something better to do! Welcome back! :)

When I was younger I hated going to weddings.

It seemed that all of my aunts and the grandmotherly types used to
Come up to me, poke me in the ribs and cackle, telling me, 'YOU'RE NEXT'.

They stopped that crap after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

More Elder Jokes-

I feel like my body has gotten totally out of shape, so I got my doctor's permission to join a fitness club and start exercising. I decided to take an aerobics class for seniors. I bent, twisted, gyrated, jumped up and down, and perspired for an hour. But, by the time I More...

5.42 Good Maen all. Not so much in to sport myself, but the rest of Perth will shut down for the Derby today. I'm going to say 'Go Eagles' so my boss will hopefully be happy tomorrow (it's just a game!!!!!!!!!).

SCOTT, Did ALL those jokes come from your friend? They were great.
KIM - the first two weeks have been pretty good. Somewhat stressful due to things besides school, but okay. I have hours of grading to finish in the next day or so - first major test for my advanced kids.

JAMIE: He sent most of them! He is such fun to talk with. He knows (as most elders do) so many things and has lived so much it is just fascinating to listen to him.

Sarah Oz: I lived in Wichita for the first 10 years; then we moved to a farm east just into Butler County. When I finished college (University of Wichita--not state then), I moved to Rhode Island for 5 years and then back to Wichita (2 more degrees at Wichita State University) until 1984 when I More...

Jamie: Sorry! I hadn't clicked on your 'more.'

JAMIE: Whoa, you DO have a lot on your plate right now! Yes, depend on us, but there must also be some friends to whom you can reach out there in Texas. How about at church? We will be here for you, but there is only so much we can do when we are so far away. It's too bad that your school More...

It seems that I was the only Aussie allowed on site yesterday, all day. That may say something about The topics????? I can, however let you know that, at the risk of being exceptionally obvious, my favorite spot is the 'G'.

Thankyou and good-day.

Ah, Baz ... dare we ask?
 |  |
Jamie: Your feelings about Sudokuites are the same as the feelings I have about the teachers at the school where I taught for the last 20 years. This is quite different from the four other places where I had taught. Together, we've gone through breast cancer, divorces, and deaths of co-workers, More...
