Good morning, but time I said Goodnight. Looong day tomorrow. We fly out at 6pm, cross the date line and arrive Honolulu at 7.45am. That is 11 hours and 45 minutes before we leave Sydney! We will then cruise back to Sydney. 27/Sep/10 12:12 AM |  |

 103* here yesterday! 27/Sep/10 12:20 AM |  |
Regarding yesterday's photo on easy - the one that asks "What is this?" It is a sea pen - an animal related to the anemone. This is a 100% certainty! My brother is a PhD Marine Biologist and it took him less than a tenth of a second to recognize it. He says he will send me the Latin name and other details later! 27/Sep/10 12:34 AM |  |
Good morning! Here it was 99° day before yesterday, 80° yesterday, and today it is 70° and raining. As they say, "Don't like the weather? Just wait a day (or two)...." 27/Sep/10 12:35 AM |  |
I watched the Oregon University vs Arizona State Football game last night played in Phoenix. 104 at the start of the game at 6PM and still 95 near the end of the game at midnight. I will deal with the 90 here in Oregon for another month before heading south for the winter. Winter ... HA!! 27/Sep/10 12:37 AM |  |
Judy, bet you wish you were back in Mammoth ... 27/Sep/10 12:39 AM |  |
Just like in the mountains, Kathy! In August, we had 90* temperatures one day, and, the next day, when an errant storm sneaked through a pass in the Sierras from the western (wet) side, two inches of snow! 27/Sep/10 12:40 AM |  |
 Absolutely, Dave! 27/Sep/10 12:41 AM |  |
Well, since the conversation has stopped. 27/Sep/10 12:49 AM |  |
 Guess, I could tell a Mommy Tale. 27/Sep/10 12:49 AM |  |
Good Maen everyone! Glenn - thanks for the explanation of the picture from yesterday. It almost looked like something carved to me. 27/Sep/10 12:49 AM |  |

Gerry - from your posting yesterday about my riddle, I don't know what a 'chook' is, so he certaintly didn't have one - six eggs, and six eggs only. Best regards, Neil 27/Sep/10 12:52 AM |  |
Congrats Karen! "Chook" - Aussie talk for chicken. 27/Sep/10 12:55 AM |  |
Thanks Vici for your explanation, Anyway, for everybody - NO, the farmer took one basket with the six eggs only. Best regards, Neil 27/Sep/10 12:58 AM |  |
Glenn.... Thank you for your explanation. It was driving me crazy. 27/Sep/10 1:04 AM |  |
I love the flowers under the rail of the boat. They must not spend time on the open sea. They'd never survive the swells. 27/Sep/10 1:07 AM |  |
lazy morning - come to think of it most of my mornings are lazy. too cool for a river ride today - but maybe apple picking, baking or just hiking outside - in my mind's eye right now -- maybe, I make it some true. 27/Sep/10 1:11 AM |  |
Sent you my guess, Neil! Here is my offering for today: Can you decipher this letter equation? 1 = R per Y of a T's L Answers to the "A chook by any other name is still a chicken" inbox, please. 27/Sep/10 1:12 AM |  |
 I found yesterday's photo disturbing, too, Heidi ... 27/Sep/10 1:16 AM |  |
Good M(barely)aen, world! An update for those of you not on Facebook: Jaime and I got back from Jacksonville Thursday afternoon after a harrowing several days at St. Vincent's Hospital. Jaime had a couple of cardiac episodes over the past two weeks - the first fairly minor, the second not so More... 27/Sep/10 1:56 AM |  |
Sending Jamie well wishes. Glad there is a procedure (even only at a few locations) that repair the leaks.Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers. 27/Sep/10 2:07 AM |  |
Jane, hope everything goes quickly and smoothly for you and Jamie. 27/Sep/10 2:18 AM |  |
for Jaime, Jane. It sounds as though everything that can be done is being done at this point and it's good that a plan is in place for the valve correction. As you say, one step at a time. Sending hugs and good vibes, too! 27/Sep/10 2:18 AM |  |
On the vegemite history.Dr. Callister the inventor, put celery, onions, salt and a few secret ingredients (that worries me, what are secret ingredients)? won a contest and his daughter named the product. 27/Sep/10 2:22 AM |  |
Oops, Sheilah, Dr. C's daughter chose the name from entries given. 27/Sep/10 2:24 AM |  |
Surprisingly, Vegemite was not successful. To boost sales, the name was changed for a short time to Parwill. 27/Sep/10 2:27 AM |  |
Vegemite was not popular until it was given away free. Kraft stepped in and with every process cheese purchase you could get a jar of vegemite free. 27/Sep/10 2:31 AM |  |
