CAROL: It seems that great minds work alike!

Hi to you, ROLA! Wait until you have an empty nest ... you will actually MISS that loud, obnoxious music!
 |  |
Ed, I may have to go buy the entire collection! you are right about it lifting your spirits - I don't think there has ever been a better strip. Then my son can inherit it from me. For his high school graduation, we framed the last strip for him. My wife had saved it all those years for some reason.
 |  |
No I wasn't upset Ed.I'm unupsetable, too big to push over ROFL just interested how it was done.Cheers
 |  |
my no 1 son (at uni - 3rd year) will have a HECS debt....Higher Education Contribution scheme... when he finishes his degree (5years). He will owe around $30,000 bact to the Gov. Once he earns over xx amount he starts to pay back the debt thru extra tax deductions
 |  |
Jamie; They say the second time around is fine, you and your lucky spouse live it!! Greetings early for your anniversary. Continue to enjoy each other!!!
 |  |
Rola, That is nice that he gets to wait until he starts making a certain amount. Here they have to start paying as soon as they are no longer in school. And of course we are paying our parent loans (currently about $15000) right now.
 |  |
Judy.......yes I will miss!! the LOUD music !!! then at least I will have a chance to play MY music LouD, Son no 2 just turns everything off if he doesn't care for it.......
 |  |
Meryl, You have another word for the sudoku files'unupsetable...go girl!
 |  |
Jamie.... Starting your adult life off with a big debt is scary.........there is no way we (Parents) can afford to pay for his Uni Educ. nor Son no2....
 |  |
The only problem is, ROLA, that by the time our kids have moved out, taking with them their LOUD music, we have become stone deaf and can't enjoy our OWN music!
 |  |
Well Mamacita I am on that seafood diet, see food and eat it, which goes a long way towards being unupsetable !!!
 |  |
Judy.........true!!! sad isn't it.

How's the mountain retreat........sounds wonderful..
Hubby and I will be retreating in a couple of weeks just for the weekend, with friends, in our Caravans. looking forward to that.
 |  |
It's not loud music that makes you deaf - ask any married man!!!!
 |  |
Meryl, Good one you have to be ''Unupsetable'' to stay here because someone is bound to try sooner or later.

Mamacita who is keeping track of the Sudoku Dictionary?
 |  |
ROLA: As always, wonderful in the mountains. When you say 'caravan,' do you mean 'trailer' over here? Where will you be going? Somewhere warm? This fall, we will take our trailer and camp over by the beach off and on. It is so nice at the shore once the kids have gone back to school!

jamie, Check into the new book with every strip in order. It was a 100 dollars. More than worth it. I now enjoy Get Fuzzy, Zits and Lio. Nothing comes close to Calvin and Hobbes. I have three really cool t-shirts, which were done without Bill Watterson's permission, he very much was oppossed to any thing of that nature. He hates the stick ons of Calvin peeing that you see on pickup trucks.
 |  |
Hugh, Good one mate.
 |  |
Hugh, thinking of you, your family and Shikia. You are in my thoughts and prayers
 |  |
Meryl, I'm very familar with that diet, I think I was an early advocate, yet I was not clever enough to coin a new word. I'm just one of those folks who look at all of these inventions and wonder why didn't I think of that...the same applies to words, and games...ie...sudoku.... oh well!
 |  |
HUGH: I don't believe that a woman's chatter makes a man deaf. A man actually has to LISTEN for there to be any effect! LOL
 |  |
Mamacita - gosh - you do make me sound wongerful! Hat wouldn't fit anyway - these
dam ned horns wouldn't you know...
Hugh - had a suspicion you may have been on the cusp - a hoof in one camp and a webbed foot in the other.
 |  |
Judy...yes you would call it a Trailer.......We will be going to a local Caravan Park in the northern suburbs .. about a 40 min drive.....
because it is mid winter, it will be cold and probably wet!!......but it's 'timeout'.

 |  |
Maen Billy..........thanks for the photos.
 |  |
Ed: Looks like both birthday wishes for Barb and Anniversary wishes for you both are in order if I am reading correctly.? Congratulations and Happy Birthday!
Hugh: Shikia has been on my mind lately, I am hoping for the best possible outcome for her.
 |  |
Amma: I have no idea who is the keeper of all of these valuable words we have come up with. I just remember the discussion about them. Perhaps it was Susan/Ingham, but don't hold me to it. They do need to be recorded by someone. Someone??? Are you stepping forward???
 |  |
It might be Fi, but I'll keep a copy of them so I'll be able to spell them. A regular dictionary won't help LOL.
 |  |
Its getting late, closing in on the witching hour, so I'll say good night and good morning. Peace be with you where ever you are. Billy-- all that I hear and read bears out my opinion of you. Night all!!!
 |  |
Good night Mamacita. I'm going to go watch a movie good maEn all.
 |  |
Thanks, amma for everything.
Ed - I am going to look for it tomorrow or the next day. I will look into the others you mentioned.
 |  |
Ed, I agree with him about the Calvin stick-ons. I think they are really stupid.
 |  |
Where is Paul when one needs him or has he taken Gath's 'turkey slapping' to heart?
 |  |
Ed from Lithia: Oldest son was a dead ringer for Calvin...he even had that 'thinking sneer' that Calvin had. I have had people who know my sons ask me if they tried out for the role of Dennis the Menace several years ago. Unfortunately, one was too old and one was too young, but it would have been a typecast. LOL
 |  |
Mel
so pleased to see your SM all nice and shiney
dont forget to use your smilies.
 |  |
Oldest sons wedding pictures are online, if anyone is interested. www.pictage.com Event is Ashley & Sean.
 |  |
It was eeeaasy so make more
 |  |
SARAHOZ: Were your boys little stinkers like Calvin and Dennis??
 |  |
Judy: Oh YEAH! That is why people asked me if they had auditioned for the role. It cracked my husbands friends up when they'd ask Sean a question and he'd screw up his face. They were into everything. James (then Jaime) was foung on top of the refrigerator, he also snuck out of the house when he was 2...I wasn't that inattentive, he was that good. Sean was often found on the roof.
 |  |
OMG ... how did you survive?! They apparently liked high places ... please tell me they never jumped! Did either become a pilot? LOL
 |  |
Judy...yes, they jumped. I figured out early on that I would have a stroke if I worried about everything they did. Neither one is a pilot. Sean just received his Masters in Social Work (the it takes one to know one theory) and is planning a family himself soon. Revenge! James is only 16 and wants to be a Country Singer.
 |  |
On those lines, Deb, both of the boys are TOO smart. We encouraged Sean to go to college, and he chose to get his MSW. Starting pay..$17/hr. With James, he is interested in cars, so we are encouraging him to study auto mechanics...good money.
