everyone! We have power! It came on around 5 this morning. I was awakened by the neighbor's outside lights shining in my face. I am not an early riser, but this time I certainly didn't mind! I am blissfully cool for the first time in 3 days.
Happy Dance!

A tip of the hat to Mr. Cee for stepping in with poozles!

I need to go back and see what I've missed.....

Good Maen all!
Glad you are back on-line, Kathy...we lose power during the winter, but I don't recall losing it during the summer.

Two Irishmen were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up.

A blonde walks by and asked them what they were doing.

Paddy replied, 'We're supposed to be finding the height of this flagpole, but we don't have a ladder.'

The blonde took out an adjustable spanner from her More...

Hopefully the Waldo Canyon fire is through the worst. About 350 houses burned down and many more vandalized. Some people about 3,000 people are still evacuated. The fire continues to burn in the mountains on forest service land...
It will be along time until this is over...

We are east of the interstate and never had to evacuate, but we were getting ready to if necessary.

We've lost power in the winter, too, Vici. But at least we have the fireplace to warm things up. With the doors to the family room closed, it's nice and toasty. There is no way to get away from the heat when the AC is out. The fans kept it bearable. Thank Heaven's for the generator!

Belated CP!
It sounds as though you celebrated in style! I'm sure if a certain lady knew, she would have at least offered a celebratory cuppa.

Also, a belated to our Canadian friends!

Kathy, we have been with out power both summer [storms] and winter [ice]. Since we only have electricity is isn't very nice either way.

Colo Jim, the tension of waiting to do whatever can be stressful. Try to shaking out the muscles every now and then. I remember the Palisades fire which started during the school day. I could see it approach from my door. Trying to keep calm for my students by not running to the door every minute was stressful.

I knew they'd evacuate us if we were in danger but still something niggles at the back of brain and you get ants in your pants!

I'm glad you're safe, Jim. I saw some of the devastation on the news. My thoughts are with those that lost their homes.

Ugh, Sue, don't you just hate it - all electric home! I still can't get use to cooking with electric range. I like the gas one because you can adjust the heat immediately and you can dry roast veggies over an open flame. You can't with electric stovetops.

And don't get me started with what you can't do when the power goes out! Candles don't make for a romantic dinner when it's cold out of a can or the frig you're afraid to open too often.

Back to my duties...

The answer to the poozle several days ago: It was a girl's hockey team.

The timely chapeau goes to winners, Mo, Jerry, Keith, Captain J, Greg, CP, Grass-hopper, Sarah, Mr. Cee, and Meg

Just had to save the cat from Shelby. Shelby does not like cats.
The girls thought it would be fun for my cat and the dog to become best of friends.
