Anne and ap: all those lovely hibiscus! How to choose, how to choose. Hmmm. Can I have a cutting from each of them?!!!! |  |
 6:22 - great flowers! |  |
The beautiful national flower of Malaysia |  |
I have the same kind of hibiscus growing in my yard here in south Florida. Unlike way up NORTH in Jacksonville (300 miles from here), it will not be below freezing in Jupiter. The high for the day will 'only' reach 62, however; our 'coldest' day of the winter. But temps will be back in the 70s in a few days!'It got so cold, I had to put on shoes.' |  |
Good Maen to all Counting the days now till my first visit to Hawaii... Going with my daughter who just finished law school. Figure she needs a break now before the year ahead at Bar school and articling. I grow hibiscus every Summer and I have two that i bring in every year but have yet to discover how to make them bloom over the Winter. |  |
to Celia from Toronto: We felt my mom had an extra 26 years on this earth - her first heart by-pass surgery was in 1981. She missed her 79th birthday by 5 days, but she had played with her only great-grandson on Christmas day. I miss her but I know she's in a better place and with my dad again. |  |
another chilli morning but the beautiful flower makes me think of spring. it will be commin soon |  |
PJ from Perth - up here in the Pilbara we have an extra day, school goes back Wednesday so I get 1 extra sleep in, wonder why it's different? |  |

There seems to be a lot of deaths and sadness on the site lately. Its getting rather mournful and depressing. Is there anybody out there with some happy news for a change? |  |
Honey -- you're right to remind us to post happy news. Mea culpa for having added to the 'bad' news (yesterday). One of the benefits of this site is the support system it offers those who are going through difficult times--but it's also a site to share all the good times and laughter and there are More... |  |
Great site! You can find related info on the following sites: |  |
Karen, thanks for your reply. You have a wonderful attitude; it sounds like you truly count your blessings. Where is Ridgeville? (I know, I could Google it...) One of my favourite (car) trips was to Toledo OH some years ago...for an El Greco exhibit at the art gallery. At the time they were sprucing up the waterfront area. |  |
Honey - I didn't mean to make anyone else sad, although I must admit to feeling that way myself. On a different tack - the scene outside my window is sunny and white - about 17F and three inches of new sparkling snow - great for the skiers in the area who've been waiting... |  |
Celia - N Ridgeville is about 90 miles east of Toledo, or a western suburb of Cleveland. We're 5 miles south of Lake Erie, but being west of Cleveland, we're not in the snow belt area that gets three times the snow we do! We took a boat trip into Lake Ontario in 2004 but didn't get to Toronto that trip. Have been there by bus a number of years ago to see 'Phantom'. |  |
Bill: are you new to this site? Are you also a Bears fan? (ref David previous page). No offence to any Sudokuists from Indiana, but since I love Chicago, I guess I'll root for the Bears too. I LOVE your city. Great art, great opera, great architecture, great museums, a great time. |  |
Karen, today we are also sunny and white, after a nice snowfall yesterday. We're not in our snowbelt, either, so we miss the great storms of Buffalo and southern (London etc) Ontario. We're a bit colder than you today, tho: 10-12F, but with a reported windchill of 2F. I must stop CPing and go out to see for myself! |  |
4:01. nice flower.Congrats to Chicago Bears on winning the Super Bowl.Karen sorry to hear about your mother my condolences at this sad time. |  |
Hope this lightens the mood Honey. An old preacher was dying. He sent a message for his IRS agent and his Lawyer (both church members), to come to his home. When they arrived, they were ushered up to his bedroom. As they entered the room, the preacher held out his hands and motioned for More... |  |
A woman went to the undertakers to have one last look at her dearly departed husband. The instant she saw him she started crying. One of the undertakers strides up to provide comfort in this somber moment. Through her tears she explains that she is upset because her dearest Albert was wearing More... |  |
So, some happy news is wanted...okay. After eating only about 2 cups of food total in the last 11 days since my son's surgery, he finally ate a whole piece of french toast this morning for breakfast. And now, 2 hours later, he's telling me he's hungry. That makes me smile! :) |  |
Beautiful flower. Nice day. Cheers to all. |  |
Karen big hug for you, mums are special xAngie that is excellent news, hope he leaves you some food!!! Unlike my son who eats enough to fill a dustbin or two!! |  |
 I bought a new toaster. |  |
everyone...Poor Jim from Jupiter... ...had to put shoes on today. How is the humidity??? I have to put socks on this morning but this afternoon it is supposed to hit 73 degrees without any humidity here in southern Arizona. Have a great day everyone.... |  |
I was driving down a lonely country road one cold winter day when it began to sleet pretty heavily. My windows were getting icy and my wiper blades were badly worn and quickly fell apart under the strain. Unable to drive any further because of the ice building up on my front window I More... |  |
One day a lady was driving on the Highway. She frequently checked her speed gauge to make sure she stayed within the speed limit. However, when she looked into her rear mirror, much to her dismay, she saw a police car not far behind! And, to make matters worse, the police car turned on his flashing More... |  |

Karen, sorry for the loss of your mother but sounds like she had a wonderful life and now is where she needs to be. And, as hard as that is to accept sometimes, we can smile since they have moved to a better place. |  |
To VAL from Bolton England: Sorry for the confusion. The Chicago Bears won their division championship. The Super Bowl will be played on Sunday, February 4. The Bears have not YET won the Super Bowl. However, some Bears fans are thinking positive thoughts. To KAREN, N. Ridgeville, OH: Our More... |  |
