2:36 Good afternoon one and all. Got home late yesterday from my week's stay at my son's place. We had very hot weather the whole time but occasionally a cool breeze would blow. Thank goodness!

I understand the Oz cricket celebrations and associated remarks were premature - as England won the series. Never mind Ozes. Cricket will never change the course of History or advance civilisation in any positive way

You can always sit backwards in the stadium seat to avoid boredom

There are only two things more boring than cricket - and they are (i) football, and (ii) footballers.

Hello everyone, this is my third go at posting this comment, as I was trying to do it from a laptop at my Grandson's place while looking after Ella. Ella is a real live wire at almost 5 months of age, keeps me on my toes.
I got up to page 3 and had a few laughs specially from Colo Jim and the Neil and girls show on page 1 was a fun read as well.

Rayray - The 'Bodyline' series nearly did. Australia wanted to leave the British Commonwealth. (Empire then). It even affected trade between both countries.

Sad that you find football boring....me too, bring on Super Rugby. It's only about six weeks away. Goooooooooooooo Brumbies!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Gerry,

Sorry (not really) to burst your balloon re the clickett (or whatever its called).

I am not interested in cricket, football, rugby and all the other sports with men doing stupid and pointless things with balls - or other items to be hit/pushed/whatever - such as hockey pucks.

CP seems to suppose that it is men who cause wars, and that competitive sports provide an alternative. However my view is different. Wars are not related to competitive games but to greed, and the acquisition of property and rights that belong to others. I am NOT at all sure that men predominantly contribute to such motivation.

I would prefer the one day cricket matches to the test but they don't seem to have as many these days.
I also love the tennis as I used to play that when I was young (many years ago, I know!!)
