all! Well, a few, anyway.
I was reading the comments from yesterday about Aussie slang. When we were in Australia, a friend asked us over because he was ''doing snags''. We didn't know what the heck we were getting ourselves into.
It turned out he was grilling sausages.

Hubby was there working on a joint project with New Zealand and Australia. I went along.
The aforementioned was also the guy that commented about one member of the work team being (to paraphrase) ''a right bludger'' while everyone else was doing some ''hard yakka''. It was like he was speaking another language.

I think 'that' is another language, Kathy!

Even with Arachnid's definitions yesterday, I still couldn't decipher what his sample sentence was stating...!

all. I've never seen an ibis with black legs and a black bill. The ones we see in our winter home in Florida have red legs and bills. Perhaps it's a juvenile?

I've just googled ibis photos and see that there are many different colours. Who knew? I certainly didn't!

Morning all, my favourite Ibis have a line of small black feathers along the edge of their wings, looks like black lace.

Australia has lots of dramatically colored birds, both black and white or intensely multi-colored, and fewer (or none?) like all our bland greyish sorts of ones. I am not much of a bird person at all, but in Australia I was suddenly paying attention even to city pigeons.

I think they are commonly called Bin (or Tip) Chickens because of their habit of eating rubbish left by the populace. They are in some cases taking over from the seagull. When we were in Brisbane they would walk under your table whilst we were eating to scavange whatever was dropped on the floor

A&M leads at the half, 35-0. I don't think I'll have to stay up late for this one.

Yep, those bin-chickens are scavengers and a big problem in tourist areas up here in Qld, particularly at outdoor cafes by the beach/bay. People (and not just tourists, but locals should know better) feed them a chip or a crust of bread and they come back for more and then they won't stop or go away. There are usually warning signs not to feed the birds - but people do, because they can. Sigh!

The issue is probably VB, so I'll have one of those.
