We had a dusting of snow overnight. Makes things look 'fresh'.
Only a low 261 entries in the art competition this year. It would have been the year to enter! With not as many entries and there seemed to be a lot of portraits... which I would not have painted... I might have had a chance!

Just came on the computer to send an e'mail and check on here as I'm watching a show I love on T.V. I rarely watch much on the box but lately there's one or two shows I really enjoy.

I'm sitting here feeling sorry for myself!
I was suppose to go on a docent hike. A hike for future docents with an expert geologist. Argh!!! I'll, I'll, I'll . . . the child who gave me this head cold. That could be about half my class! More...

Welcome back, Keith. I noticed we were both visiting "Kathy's Place" on FB at the same time!! Can't wait to see your photos and hear all about the cruise. That's one of the things on my bucket list!

Poor shosho! That's one of the pitfalls of teaching, I guess. There's always at least one snot-nosed kid in every class!!!

It was on mine too. Nice to get to check one off. We enjoyed this cruise as much or more than most we've been on. My daughter, Jen, came along. It was kind of her idea, and her first cruise. She, also, had a great time.

I seem to get more colds now I'm retired than I did while teaching. I think being around all those germs all the time kept my immune system strong ... but then, I don't know from nothin'.
05/Mar/12 2:18 AM
 |  |

Interesting, Keith. I had far more colds when I worked in an office environment (which is kind similar to being confined to a classroom) than when I started working from home and - later - retired. But everyone's immune system is wired differently, I guess!! The worst colds I've ever had were ones that I caught on long flights. Even caught pneumonia once on a trans-Atlantic flight.

Keith - check out my gallery for a picture taken at lunch yesterday with HalT and Mrs. HalT! We had half the band together. The absence of you and Rob left quite a vacuum. (Groan!) Ok, time to make more coffee. I think I hear Jaime stirring, and I'm sure he'll want some. (Yes, he's still in bed at nearly 10:30!)

the sun is shining brightly today. Now if the wind would slow down some it would be real nice outside.

Oh Jane. That last joke sucked. Tell Jaime to get his cockles and muscles moving.

everyone!

Keith! I'll have to look into the Panama Canal cruise. What cruise line did you use? Sounds perfect for next year's cold winter months. We always try to find a warm place to go in either Jan. or Feb.

And for today....

When you behead a word, you remove the first letter and still have a valid word. You will be given clues for the two words, longer word first.
Example: Begin -> Sour, acidic
Answer: The words are Start and Tart.

We were on Holland America, Kathy, on the Statendam. They do a good job. Yes, it was a great way to escape cold weather for a while. Several couples were doing exactly that by staying on both ways, starting in Fort Lauderdale, cruising to San Diego, and returning to Fort Lauderdale ... all in the cold months. Most of the cruise, we were in 80-90F weather.
