Joyce, just saw your question from yesterday. That's a big YES to the freezing rain, twice two days apart. Snow after both rain storms 4 to 10 cms) resulted in lots of damages with power lines downed, trees and tree branches broken and many auto crashes. A rough winter here so far. 06/Jan/17 7:28 AM |  |
1:17. Good morning everyone, and thanks all for the birthday wishes yesterday, I had a pretty good day, I took the day off work - always a bonus! 06/Jan/17 8:20 AM |  |
Well, that stirred up a bit of interest, much more than I had expected. I've looked up the original post on my iPad and increased the size, so I'm fairly sure what they are, but I am colour blind (red, green, brown, etc.) so I'm not 100% sure on the colours, but here goes.cyclist in blue with More... 06/Jan/17 10:14 AM |  |
Now here's where it get's interesting. I checked on my laptop to see what appeared, and 3 of the emoji were replaced by squares (the island, the Aussie flag and the clock) and two other squares were inserted. I'll check through the comments and see if others had similar changes.I'm pretty sure the third last item is a 3 1/2 inch floppy disk. 06/Jan/17 10:35 AM |  |
Shosho pretty well confirms my theory that the iPads will pick up all the emojis while the MacBooks will only pick up some. Now if Amelia posted on an iPad, that will be further confirmation. 06/Jan/17 10:45 AM |  |
Cathy might enjoy some time on the 'desert island' too. 06/Jan/17 10:47 AM |  |
Interestingly Keith's hieroglyphics came out the same on the iPad and the MacBook. 06/Jan/17 10:49 AM |  |
 Hey that's a CP. Is there a prize for a CP+1 ? 06/Jan/17 10:51 AM |  |
Just the self-satisfaction that you did it, Wombat. 06/Jan/17 2:25 PM |  |
Good maeN, good people. If there was a prize for a cp+1 I would long ago have taken the 🍰. 06/Jan/17 2:26 PM |  |
 Wombat, that's 2 CPs. 1 - 5 and 2 - 6. 06/Jan/17 2:29 PM |  |
 Think I'll go to bed. Night all. 06/Jan/17 2:32 PM |  |
Hmm. I rather wondered if Wombat's 'message' was an announcement of a meet up: 'Travel any way you can to be at the Island Palm [in Canberra] at 10:42 Australian daylight savings time.' Is there a place called the Island Palm in Canberra? Is there at least a meet up? 🍹 If there is, Wombat buys my first cocktail because I figured it out. 06/Jan/17 3:28 PM |  |
Or, maybe there's a place called the Canberra in Palm Beach? Either way, count me in. I'm betting the only 'snow' in either location is shaved ice in the drinks. 06/Jan/17 3:38 PM |  |
This sounds good. A Plum Luck made with plums and bourbon. I didn't know there was such thing as a bartenders allspice. onemartini.com/bourbon-plum-cocktail 06/Jan/17 3:43 PM |  |
 I've never heard of Aperol, but if Wombat's buying, I'll try a Plum Blossom. www.chowhound.com/recipes/plum-blossom-cocktail-25945 06/Jan/17 3:46 PM |  |
Things begin to come clear. Thanks Wombat. I'm on a Dell/Alien desktop, and saw your original post today as 7 empty boxes, a B&W sunrise over land, a floppy disk, 1 empty box, a U, and a final empty box. Then I looked at the same post on my iPad, and saw very clearly, all the things you More... 06/Jan/17 3:50 PM |  |
... if I could only go to the Island Palm in Canberra, or the Canberra in Palm Beach, I'd be there. 06/Jan/17 3:52 PM |  |
Seeing as I'm awake at midnight local time the name of this cocktail interests me: Sugar Plum Dreams. Love the multicolored sugar on the rim. www.delish.com/cooking/recipe-ideas/recipes/a14484/mansion-on-turtle-creek-sugar-plum-dreams-coc ktail-recipe 06/Jan/17 3:54 PM |  |
I wonder if there are any cocktails with 'Keith' or '22' or 'Wombat' or 'Sudoku' in their names? 06/Jan/17 3:57 PM |  |
Plum, You are so entertaining. We could continue this chatter all day. You have the gift of placing a new slant on what is said, and that brings others into the conversation. Keith, Hal, Greg and Peter rarely miss out on a chance to comment, and Joyce, Judy, Shosho, Anne and Sheila, too rarely More... 06/Jan/17 4:35 PM |  |
Where are you Peter, this is a rare chance to get 66. 06/Jan/17 4:36 PM |  |
 I's here, Wombat! 06/Jan/17 4:44 PM |  |
