I went to the cemetery yesterday and

there were 4 pall bearers walking around with a coffin.

3 hours later they were still walking around with it.

I thought to myself :

“These buggers have lost the plot.”

2:23 good evening everyone. Sorry about the big empty space in the above joke, I usually make sure I delete all of that.
Very magnolia, Kate.
I seem to remember something from when I was a kid (I actually was one once), about The White Magnolia Tree. Was it a poem or song, does anyone know?

The common Magnolia tree in the states has a white flower. The pink colored Magnolia I've always called a Tulip Tree.

Happy Birthday Cathy.

Anne - your story reminds me of the cemetery scene in José Saramago's book "All the Names". If anyone has read the book and can explain this scene to me, I would be eternally grateful!

Actually, I would love for someone to explain the ENTIRE book to me!

Speaking of cemetary jokes -

Why do they always have a fence around a cemetary? Because people are dying to get in.

Good morning all! Raining and cold here. May get snow tonight! I don't think I've ever seen a magnolia before. It kind of looks like a rose or tulip. Hope you have a great day!

Ian - that is a lovely poem. Magnolias are wonderful trees. Living in the South, I enjoy the majestic white magnolias. When I lived up north we had the deciduous pink variety - equally lovely but not nearly as large or dramatic as the Southern magnolias.

A lot of white magnolias in this area. They are beautiful, but oh, so messy when they drop their blooms. Small price to pay...
