HI all! Hope the sun is shining for Labour Day! The weekend puzzle brought in correct answers from Plum, Neil, Phantom, Jamie, June, Greg and Kathy - no, not the batty one, the nice one from Valrico! The answers were 'story, parable, fable and myth'. 07/Sep/10 12:31 AM |  |
Happy Holiday Monday, except for Jamie and of course, those of you now into Tuesday. I have been trying to figure out how to reach emergency services in Pt Macquarie. Something has to be terribly, terribly wrong at Viv's house if a cheesecake can take up residence for 24 hours unscathed. If only I could afford the gasoline for my jet packs I would see to this matter myself.... 07/Sep/10 12:35 AM |  |
 Good morning everyone. 07/Sep/10 12:36 AM |  |
Welcome Home to Kathy...we'll see how long the jet lag keeps her from regaling us with stories of her adventure 07/Sep/10 12:37 AM |  |
Here's today's one which will be too easy for the Aussies, but maybe will require some thinking from the yanks who've had it way to easy recently! Answers to the 'is it a bird, is it a plane? No it's a ...' inbox please! Greg and Judy are exploring a forest in Queensland together (don't ask More... 07/Sep/10 12:39 AM |  |
As someone who has had to be 'canoed' to her parents house and then help them bail out a few times, I am glad to hear that Rosemary is 'staying afloat' as CG put it. Dealing with that kind of muck is awful, so I will keep a warm, dry and sunny thought for her and others affected by the flooding. 07/Sep/10 12:41 AM |  |
How did it manage to sting her through that furry outer layer of hers? If Greg is around is a beavertail involved? 07/Sep/10 12:42 AM |  |
maybe he should have fought the offending creature off with one of those pastries - it wouldn't have stood a chance. 07/Sep/10 12:44 AM |  |
jumping in between morning chores - Happy Labor Day to those who work, play - have children - which includes us all -- May you enjoy the fruits of your labor 07/Sep/10 12:51 AM |  |
always nice to clean out the fridge - the milk is going - so made pudding - and got to "clean" the bowls - that's the pudding bowls folks - the other bowls will be in the afternoon !! -- cool enough to run the oven - so made some cranberry, pumkin breads - cleaned the fridge - so for More... 07/Sep/10 12:56 AM |  |
It is Labor day in the US, so of course that means that I will work. Today we help the Tin Man's mother with chores, then I finish the mowing. There is a tree branch banging on the roof...TM will see to that. Preparing for mowing is fun when you have an entourage. They are always around, under More... 07/Sep/10 1:27 AM |  |
Whew! I survived. The voices in my head, were throwing things way out of porpotion last night. Now, to see what all of you have been up to this morning. I notice Shannon has been untied. 07/Sep/10 1:29 AM |  |
 Don't know if I like this reminder of winter. 07/Sep/10 1:31 AM |  |
 Why not? 07/Sep/10 1:32 AM |  |

Hello, Karen. I'm surprised that you let me get a word in edgewise. 07/Sep/10 1:43 AM |  |
Good morning to all! Anyone up for a polar bear swim? Boy that water looks cold! 07/Sep/10 1:48 AM |  |
A holiday here in Canada as well, but here it is LaboUr Day as opposed to Labor Day in the US. We put the U in to celebrate the individual workers! 07/Sep/10 1:50 AM |  |
 Hehehe, Heidi.Mom just left, I am recouperating.Next time, though, watch out. 07/Sep/10 1:52 AM |  |
new video - my page. Someone should tell this girl "What you do isn't possible".... 07/Sep/10 1:52 AM |  |
Fiona, I'm certainly glad that thing stung Judy in the butt and not me! This is an easy one for the Aussies, especially those living in New South Wales (hint, hint). Answer on its way. 07/Sep/10 1:52 AM |  |
 Pretty amazing gymnast, Jerry. 07/Sep/10 2:13 AM |  |
Wait, your mom already left? How do you manage to have a short visit? That amount of time wouldn't even cover the Ute conversations I am subjected to regularly. Your talking about your mom reminds me of a magnet I have on the fridge..."I saw my mother yesterday.......Thank God she didn't see me!" 07/Sep/10 2:14 AM |  |
It's so hot that...• birds are using potholders to pull worms out of the ground.• the trees are whistling for dogs.• hot water now comes out of both taps in the sink.• you can make sun tea instantly.• you break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 a.m.• you More... 07/Sep/10 2:16 AM |  |
Jerry, I'm thinking she's got a big fat contract from Cirque du Soleil in her future.... 07/Sep/10 2:18 AM |  |
Yep, Shannon. I knew the visit would be an hour or less. My step-dad and her dropped their pooch off at the groomers, then came out here till it was time to pick him up. They did take my little darlings with them. Which, bless their hearts, made conversation between adults impossible, because they were so excited to see Grandma and Papoo. 07/Sep/10 2:22 AM |  |
Pray for me, people. I am going into that room now. The aromas of bread being prepared, hopefully will fill the air soon. 07/Sep/10 2:24 AM |  |
