Good Maen, good people. Solve down skipping 7 and 4 then finish with them in either order. Don't have time to see if there's a happier solution pattern. 08/May/19 12:30 AM |  |

What an absolutely lovely flower in the photo today - searching QUALUP BELL tells me it is rather rare & difficult to grow in the only place it is native - Western Australia. 08/May/19 2:52 AM |  |

Ahhh - I waited & waited & waited so as to not take 22 … and now it's 6 hours later … wanted to ask Anne what her experience with QUALUP BELL has been. 08/May/19 10:02 AM |  |
King's Park is such a lovely wildflower reserve and right in the heart of Perth. Visiting WA for the wildflower season should be on everyone's bucket list. I can't remember seeing a Quallup Bell when I've visited. 08/May/19 10:12 AM |  |
As Anne would know a lot of he towns in SW Western Australia end with UP. What it means I don't know, it is possibly aboriginal, using terms not in current use to to name towns, like Thorpe of Viking origin in England. 08/May/19 10:17 AM |  |
Quite a few other endings refer to geographical features such as dale, dene, vale. I'm sure there would be lets of these. 08/May/19 10:23 AM |  |
UP is generally believed to be Aboriginal meaning place of water. It can mean anything to do with water, for instance river, swampland. 08/May/19 10:24 AM |  |
Thank you Arachnid, you are a fount of information. Sorry I failed to mention you as a Western Australian. I hope your unpacking and house improvements are going well. 08/May/19 11:17 AM |  |

everyone. There's a beautiful bright object in the sky this morning, with frost warnings here. I'm concerned about the hummingbirds that arrived at the feeder yesterday. The tree swallows arrived last week and the loons have been here for a couple of weeks. Luckily, the floods on More... 08/May/19 8:56 PM |  |
After 41 years I can finally be recognised as a West Australian . That's the problem with newbies (or incomers), they tend to be more parochial than the natives. Anyway, no offence at the omission Wombat; Anne has years of residence on me 08/May/19 9:02 PM |  |
WA wildflowers are on MY bucket list!! 08/May/19 11:13 PM |  |
