If you squint your eyes and look real close, you can see the strings or cords. Barely. Wonderful kite or parachute. I refuse to commit myself to much. I keep sticking my foot in my mouth.

Over the weekend they had a big para-glidig contest in the near-by Applegate Valley. Beautiful to watch - while wine tasting.

Eve, isn't it funny how many things are beautiful to watch while wine tasting?

We enjoyed watching para gliders over the cliffs at Kurion on the southern coast of Cyprus. Not wine tasting, more beer drinking, but it was a similar effect.

I, too, thought the "para" may have lost it's "glider"!

maen all! paragliding over torry pines is one of my son's passions. he's a nut!

It's amazing how "High-tech" kites etc. are now. A far cry from the paper grocery sack and 2 sticks we used to use with one of my dad's stained ties for a tail. We "winded" ourselves trying to get those things to fly! Maybe that was from singing "Let's go fly a kite" at the tops of our voices?

There was a group of people on the ground flying two kites. Some of the time both were up or down together! The rest of the time only one was up! They didn't have harnesses but a couple of times one of the holders was air born for a short time as well! The photo was taken in Dubbo (NSW) just before Christmas!

People used to stare at me like I was insane. That used to bother me until I realized what dull lives they must be leading.
