Remember the price of hay/corn/etc. to feed the horse is going up - because of Ethanol. However, switching to horses from cars, would create a whole new job category "that Americans wouldn't want to do".

Auntie Di, the place you are talking about is the UK. We are paying upwards of £1.13 a litre which works out at US$8.36 a US gallon.

The problem we have is will we be able to afford to travel in a motorhome at the price of fuel.

Great travel mode if you've got plenty of time. Personally, I wouldn't mind it a bit and my youngest daughter would be delighted if I brought home a horse!
