3:26 Maen! The mighty bison at Jellystone! :)

We turned a corner once on a very narrow trail in Yellowstone and two bison were fighting (bumping heads) right in front of us! We were so stunned by their power that we forgot all about our cameras! Fear does that!

We have friends who raise these. They need special, extra strong w=facilities for them. Anything for cattle is WAY too flimsy. And they can really JUMP.

How did that " w=" get in there??? Gremlins?

Them buffaloes are a docile bunch. I drove thru Yellowstone with a friend once, and he taught me this much. He pulled over by a buffalo. We were like may be 20 feet from it. Then he would start honking. The buffalo did not stir at all.

all. When we were driving in Yellowstone, we had stop to let a bison cross the road. On the radio Dolly Parton was singing "Why'd you come in here lookin' like that."

Ok. So Shiela had a very different buffalo experience. Was it their mating season or something?

Eeeewww, Jyrki ... mating buffalo ... it's going to take a while to erase THAT image from the back of my eyeballs ...

deltz.... The Buffalo are NOT a scourge and nuisance... the ranges are THEIR natural habitat. WE invaded their homes, and those of the native Americans. The buffalo were exterminated to destroy the way of life of the indians. If someone threatened me like that, I'd be dangerous too!!!

Hi all. Very interesting discussion today! Very similar to kangaroo "discussions" here!!!

\excuse my ignorance but are Bison & Buffalo the same? We have the Indian, Water Buffalo in the north.

For those of you who think Kangaroos are cute try to imagine being alone with a 7ft. red!
I love Kangaroos but I definately treat them with respect, as I imagine our American friends do their Bison!

Never seen buffalo or bison in real except in zoo. Ate the meat once, very lean, if my memory still good. This picture looks like a painting to me....peaceful place to be but I would not mix with the buffalo neither with the crocodile!I happy to let them live where they need to!

What are called Buffalo in this country are really Bison. A lot of people use them interchangably (sp?), but that's not correct. Buffalo are found in Africa and Asia.

Heavens, I can manage the easy, the medium,
but cannot get one of the 'hard' ones out.
The lessons seem double dutch to me !!!

Elsie it took me a while to get the hang of doing the hard keep at it you will get it one day.

Plum I like the hard the best too, and if I have only time for one, that is the one I do. Too many colors alike to do the puzzle though. I have seen Bison/Buffalo up close and they are HUGE!!!!

Bison is from Europe. There is a pocket of them, brought back from almost extinction, in Poland.
