maen all! great place...about 20 years ago i went for a 2 day side trip and stayed for 2 weeks. the old port was especially amazing to me! they've moved millions of tons of ash and pumice to the surrounding farmland. good fertilizer, too!

Definitely on my "list" too! My parents went there thirty years ago, and Pompeii was "closed for the day" due to works going on. Of course they only had one day to spend there - what a disappointment!

Glad you like the photo. We only spent a day there and barely scratched the surfaced. Herculaneum is also worth a visit - that is much smaller and can be done in an afternoon.
