Sudoku Puzzles

Another one of my photos after a long break. This was a beautiful trip through the Andes from Arequipa. The countryside seemed to change all the time from very arid, semi desert to lovely lush green valleys and terraced hillsides. Probably my favourite part of Peru of what I saw.

Good morning to all! This one took me a while this morning. Lordy, lordy, another of your Peru pictures Anne! What a nice surprise! Were you treking or was this taken from a vehicle?

Canuk Greg - we had stopped on the side of the road to see the vicunas. We weren't treking at this stage. That was later.

Isn't a vicuna just a llama, or is it something different?

No, Greg - the hair is a lot finer and worth more and they all seemed to be that same light colour. As opposed to the llamas & alpacas which varied in colour and the texture of the hair is coarser. We didn't see very many vicunas but saw plenty of the others.

Sorry, Greg - I believe they are all from the same family. There isn't much difference between the llama & alpaca.

Debby: According to a vicuna website, vicunas, llamas, and alpaca are in the camel family. Google is my friend!

Good pictue--quite different landscape than Massachusetts!

Very nice picture, Anne. I read the Vicuñas are a protected specie and are quite rare ! The ground looks quite arid though. Good MeAn to all!

Reminds me of the eastern side of the Sierra in California where the mountains rise from the desert.
