Yes, where's the Loch? And aren't those flowers 'Indian's Paintbrush? I am very confused.

The flowers look too large to be paintbrush. We have a Ben Lomand in CA, too. Must have been a popular spot for Scottish immigrants.

I don't know the proper name for these flowers, but my grandma calls them "red hot pokers". Descriptive, isn't it? There's a Ben Lomond high school in Ogden, Utah, FYI.

I would love to see a picture of "the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond" some day. That's a suggestion for all you brilliant photogs out there.

Ben Lomond is also a town in Queensland, NSW, which is where I believe this photo is from.

The picture is not mine but I do know where Ben Lomond is as my hubby comes from near there. It is in the New England Highlands in N.S.W. and is near Glen Innes, Llangothlin and Guyra. The nearest City is Armidale. It is a beautiful area but gets too cold for me!

Red hot pokers = kniphofia. Mine never look this pretty: they're a great breeding place for snails and I'm a lousy gardener! Lovely cottage, and very cheerful flowers. :)

One of Ian's! They're known as Red Hot Pokers or Torch Lilies. Proper name is Kniphofia from the Liliaceae family & their home ground is South Africa!

Also that Ben Lomond is in NSW Australia!
