Everybody. Wow the Ants must be big Devils in Wyoming 10/Oct/17 3:28 AM |  |
Not sure if it's due to Nate, but I had to turn on lights in my east-facing bedroom this morning, and now in southwest facing rooms that ought to be sunlit. 10/Oct/17 4:09 AM |  |
Some states have changed the name of today's holiday from Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples Day. If more states do that, the same menu would work for Thanksgiving in Canada and for Indigenous Peoples Day in the US. Aside from other issues, Columbus never even came to North America! 10/Oct/17 4:13 AM |  |
Although Italian-Americans have adopted Columbus Day as theirs, there was zero Italian immigration to North America until centuries later, so it's not as if there is any connection other than Genoa. 10/Oct/17 4:15 AM |  |
So I am all for two excuses to eat pumpkin pie! First in October, on Indigenous Peoples Day, and again on the US Thanksgiving Day in November. 10/Oct/17 4:16 AM |  |
Happy Thanksgiving to the Canadians! 10/Oct/17 4:19 AM |  |
Looks like the mountain from' Close Encounters' film?? 10/Oct/17 5:38 AM |  |
Good afternoon to all! You are on the money Darwen Jim. That was the backdrop for the the movie. Interestingly, the number of tourists, visitors and climbers jumped significantly after the movie was released. The Devil's Tower is a US National Heritage site. 10/Oct/17 6:18 AM |  |
Morning all, what a lovely sight it is to see so many comments. 10/Oct/17 6:44 AM |  |
I was woken up by our resident big green frog croaking outside our bedroom window. 10/Oct/17 6:48 AM |  |
I forgot to say HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all Canadians world-wide! 10/Oct/17 7:02 AM |  |
Hope your antibiotics are working Greg - and Happy Thanksgiving to you!! 10/Oct/17 7:18 AM |  |
Think you know slang expressions and things that are linked to particular places then have a go at this poozle. There is one in there that no Northerners have solved, but all Southerners have. I'M SURE I KNOW THAT PLACE. I’m going to try a different style of poozle this time, More... 10/Oct/17 9:21 AM |  |
 RIP: Y. A. Tittle, 90. Tittle was a Hall of Fame American football player. 10/Oct/17 11:36 AM |  |
 all! 10/Oct/17 11:56 AM |  |
 1:52. Good afternoon everyone. 10/Oct/17 12:54 PM |  |
There is still a bit of a mountain to climb to get to 66 Peter, but If I knock of a few of the foothills you might be able to get there without too much trouble. 10/Oct/17 1:46 PM |  |
I'm glad Hal said who who Y.A. Tittle was. Ninety is a good long number of years to live, but it is even more surprising if you have suffered the bone crunching tackles of American Football. YU is an unusual starting letter for a given name - what was it? 10/Oct/17 1:51 PM |  |
It is an incredibly lovely day here today. We have had a few heavy showers over the last few days and they have encouraged the flowers to come out and greet the sun. I should take some photos. 10/Oct/17 1:54 PM |  |
I should stop a few short of 66 so no-one inadvertently steals it from Peter. That should have been Y a couple of messages back. 10/Oct/17 1:58 PM |  |
I'll have to claim a CP though, and not take too long posting it or one of the lurkers will pounce. 10/Oct/17 1:59 PM |  |
Wombat - His full name was Yelberton Abraham Tittle Jr. No wonder why he went by 'Y. A.' 10/Oct/17 2:15 PM |  |
 Night all. 10/Oct/17 2:16 PM |  |
I did it. I uploaded pictures from my drive yesterday. It snowed today...what a difference a day makes. 10/Oct/17 3:55 PM |  |
I also uploaded a recent picture of the boys and me taken this summer. 10/Oct/17 3:55 PM |  |
 And one of Violet! 10/Oct/17 3:58 PM |  |
Well I've moved around quite a lot since 'Busso' and have now retired so hopefully I will be able to participate a bit and try some of the puzzles. Nice to see a lot of names I remember from lurking still posting as well as some new ones. 10/Oct/17 10:05 PM |  |
