ykm:
As it is your own, I really am even more impressed by your poem.
You should take it up regularly.
Your poem is perfectly constructed; is simple; and has a clear message.

The definition of 'love' that you provide is one of several definitions - all them confusable one with another.

Modern pop-culture has destroyed the original primary meaning of the word 'love'.

I am not 'puritanical', but I recognize destructive propaganda when I see it. That is how I regard trends in pop-culture.

Dottie I am honoured to have my poem in the 'corny' category. I love reading poetry, but I don't think writing it is my strength.
Ykm and Rayray you are definitely the poets on this site!

Back again. Bloody hot around here. We stopped to look at a pioneer museum in Kangaroo Valley. It was so hot in many of the buildings. I am glad I'm not a pioneer woman in all those heavy clothes. We're now at the B & B where the aircon is fantastic.

Maybe Kayo hit the naughty room. Has happened to most regular posters at one time or another.

And where is Fiona?????

One hot summer day, a blonde came to town with her dog, tied it under the shade of a tree, and headed into a restaurant for something cold to drink.

Twenty minutes later, a policeman entered the restaurant and asked, 'Who owns the dog tied under that tree More...

Very similar here VV, when you posted it was around 29 here and we're also expecting 37 tomorrow. The problem is the number of fires around the place at the moment; tomorrow could see them flaring up again. Fingers crossed.

No real fires here as the farmers have already burnt off including the local forestry. Still very very hot though.

Stay safe people.

Yes Dottie R, it was great to meet up with CP and Mr P yesterday and hear all about the fun trip that CP had to America, and all the wonderful Sudoku friends she was able to catch up with while there.
Both CP and Mr P were interested in the Bradman museum, (all about cricket for the uninitiated)and after our meeting, they planned to investigate it.

Like Peter, in Kayo's absence I'll add a medical daffynition and factoid.

AORTA:
The beginning of someone's explanation about what he/she should be doing.

Factoid:
A strawberry is not a fruit. It is a false fruit that develops from the receptacle of the flower.
Its real More...

The novel “Fifty Shades Of Grey” has seduced women - and baffled blokes.
Now a spoof, Fifty Sheds Of Grey, offers a treat for the men.
The book has author Colin Grey recounting his love sessions at the bottom of the garden. Here are some extracts...

Two Aliens...

Two aliens landed in the Arizona desert near a gas station that was closed for the night. They approached one of the gas pumps and the younger alien addressed it saying, 'Greetings, Earthling. We come in peace. Take us to your leader.'

The gas pump, of course, didn't More...
