Good Wednesday Maen from a drizzly Pacific Northwest.

ROFL warren, my only problem is that I work at a church in the mornings! can you just imagine if one of the little church ladies walked in . But you feel free to carry on just please don't say you are wearing a fuzzy vest!
 |  |
Tootie in Pa...my hat's off to you. 59 years is amazing! How did you manage so long?
 |  |
Good Maen all.

Glenn fr: Winter Springs, Fl. happy 18th birthday to your eldest daughter hope she has a wonderful day today.♪♪♪♪♪
 |  |
LK, what's wrong with a fuzzy vest? I'm in air conditioning!
 |  |
As long as you are comfortable Warren, suppose to get to 100 here this weekend, and 2 parades to walk in, ugh!
 |  |
To Tootie
Congratulations. What a great family.
I only have one son, who has two daughters.
Smaller family but lovely and greatly missed as they live so far away in Singapore.

1:28-fast Major heat wave coming through the next few days. Supposed to reach 100 degrees this weekend. We don't have air conditioning and my small children are probably going to melt. The normal high for my area this time of the year is only 79. Cold front to move through on Monday---bringing the temps down to a more reasonable 85. I like winter much better :)

mAen all
Have a good day

G'mAen All. I had no idea that going back to catch up on the Archives was going to be such a monumental task. Since I have such a fascination with numbers, I decided to go through & add up the number of comments for the period I was away from the site, June 5th through July 10. Would you believe More...

Welcome Back Kathy!
 |  |
Grannie Mo, Catherine, & Fiona - I am enjoying watching the Tour de France - such beautiful scenery all along the way!! It's so much easier to travel via the TV than in person, but sometimes I can't help wishing I could be standing along the side of the road over there!! Could you all repeat for More...
 |  |
LK - thanks to you & others too numerous to mention who have welcomed me back so warmly.

Is there a new rule about not making too many posts in a row? Noticed that Judy was teased for trying to 'catch up', so to speak. I promise I'll try to pace myself so as not to aggravate anyone!
 |  |
Kathy, welcome home. Isn't retirement great.....all you have to do is sit there and count the number of comments...LOL...LOL...
 |  |

To Kathy from Valrico: Subtract the comments made by the five most prolific posters. Watch the number drop in half.
 |  |
Warren, you made some very valid points. I appreciate that you and probably others want to let this discussion die, but each of us should have the opportunity to post at least once on the issue. As a Supporting Member, beehive was emailed with a warning to tone down his language. Site rules stated More...

Kathy and Judy, both back at the same time, maybe we can set a new record for number of comments in a day. ...all kidding aside, great to have you both back...it has been lonely out here.
 |  |
I did, I did, I did see a (another) putty tat.

Good mAen, all!
 |  |
Yes, Dave, I agree. Been kinda lonely.
 |  |
Kathy - I live near Bergerac in the Dordogne. This is about 100 km east of Bordeaux. I live about 200 metres from the river and walk my dog there every day, weather permitting. Today has been another incredibly hot day and I think I'm about to melt. We don't have air con but I keep the shutters closed to keep out the sun so inside the house isn't too bad.
 |  |
Dave & Joe, After keeping up such a hectic pace both in Europe & with seven grandchildren at the beach, it is a welcome change of pace to sit here quietly in my computer room adding up numbers - ha ha However, I'll have to draw the line at counting numbers of comments by certain people. I More...

Hi Keith! You & Dave won't be lonely anymore once Judy & I get going again! We've been exchanging lots of e-mails so as not to bore everyone with our girly (or should I say granny?) chatter. By the way, did you know that 'grandmothers are just antique little girls'?
 |  |
Granniemo - I've got you spotted! Found Bergerac & the river on my map of France. Must be a great place to walk your dog. What kind of dog is he (she?)? I have never been to the south of France, only to Paris. Think I would enjoy seeing some countryside rather than only city sites. After the More...

Hi Kathy,

I took a vacation for a week and when I got back found it impossible to catch up. Or mustard for that matter. I think we need a summary page of daily rantings and events of the day!

Re: an international sudoku meeting..Las Vegas was suggested, and would be a good site for a US meet, but someone suggested Hawaii, which would be a more equidistant location between the US and Australia. The cost to get there might be a little more equal. As for those in other parts of the world..maybe we could move the location every year and whomever is nearby or wants to come, can...

Warren, sounds like you want a job writing summaries. Gath, pay attention here.

Kathy, being a Grandpa myself, I know about grandmas being grown up little girls, since Lynne's little girl part is alive and well.
 |  |
Warren, you are so right about communication. That is a factor in why my marriage is ending too. Clear, open, and honest communication is what it is all about. And agreed that women need to ask for what they want. Sometimes, though, it feels great to have a partner be thoughtful enough to consider More...
 |  |
Suzanne, I was thinking the same way about the idea of Las Vegas, it would eliminate virtually all of the Aussie folks, as an Australian location would do for the US folks. Realistically, it seems to me traveling is just too expensive for an international sudoku meeting to be feasible. What happens More...

Good mAen to all, Tootie/Pa., It sounds like Nicholas is having a richly rewarding experience that he will remember as one of the highlights of his early years. How wonderful to be able to have these memories to fall back on. Kathy, your experiences sound wonderful too, but the time at the beach More...

Forgot to say: GATH, YOU DA MAN!
 |  |
Hi Suzanne, you're not naive! People have different understandings of the terms respect and kindness. My ex thought she should be the center of my universe with no one else around. I tried hard to make her feel that way but because I'm close to my brothers she always felt something was missing. It More...

Enough of this. A joke! (Hope I didn't post this one before)

As American Indian walks into a cafe with a shotgun in one hand pulling a male buffalo with the other. He says to the waiter, 'Want coffee.'

The waiter says, 'Sure chief, coming right up.' He gets the Indian a tall mug of More...

Keith, good point..glad to see the localized meetings happening..and to think it all started with me, Kathy and Ed in Tampa earlier this year!! (at least i think it did) Guess that makes us the founding members of SA!! (pats herself on back). And then meeting Linda for the midwest chapter of SA! More...

Pretty sure I posted this one, but it's worth a repeat.

Two Irish nuns have just arrived in USA by boat and one says to the other, 'I hear that the people in this country actually eat dogs.'

'Odd,' her companion replies, 'but if we shall live in America, we might as well do as More...

Last one for today

Due to a power outage, only one paramedic responded to the call.

The house was very, very dark, so the paramedic asked Kathleen, a 3-year-old girl, to hold a flashlight high over her Mommy so he could see while he helped deliver the baby. Very diligently, More...

Gots to do one more!

An old man, Mr. Beehive, was living the last of his life in a nursing home.

One day he appeared to be very sad and depressed. Nurse Tracy asked if there was anything wrong.

'Yes, Nurse Tracy,' said Mr. Beehive, 'My Private Part died today, and I am very More...
