G'day mates. Here's today's daffynition:
sinking — Satan
And here's today's factoid:
The Catholic Church’s largest diocese, located in Milan, is now offering exorcisms over-the-phone.

Rob got back home about 3 PM yesterday after his mini vacation on his own. He was lucky to get out of NC/SC before the snow & ice hit those states. But then I had to worry about our son-in-law Chris driving home from work at UNC Hosp. in Chapel Hill, NC & our daughter Wendy driving to work at the Durham VA Hosp. No wonder I have so much gray hair!!

My sincere condolences to all of you who have suffered through this awful winter. They are saying that this is the worst in the U.S. since 1982.

friends!
It's sunny out there today and pristinely beautiful!
Kathy - There may have been worse individual snowstorms in the past, but as far as the whole winter season, it's been the worst since taking records in SE Michigan. Winter in Southern Michigan this year reminds me of my childhood winters in Northern Michigan!

Shiela, Debby's daughter Angi posted a photo on FB yesterday showing the car dashboard reading of the outside temperature as -11 deg. Fahrenheit!! BRRRR! Meanwhile, here in Valrico it was 77 F.

Kathy - Hope your children keep safe along with all the rest of the South dealing with uncommon snow & ice conditions. We had snow once when we lived in NC and I can tell you that people down there do not know how to drive in snow. All of us Northerners stayed off the roads!

everyone!

We got hit with about 8 inches of snow last night. The snow plows have been down our street this morning. As for the cars and driveway....We're considering just waiting for the Spring thaw.

I picked this puzzle before the weather forecast and reading today's posts but it is turning out to be very appropriate.

My wife is out at Pappy's Patch to pick strawberries to cover in chocolate for her girls' night out this evening! I am hoping that she will make a few extra for us to have tomorrow for Valentine's Day.

Meanwhile, our older daughter is snowed in up in Asheville and is NOT driving in to work More...

My Mum will be coming home from hospital today, they say she is well enough to go. Yesterday I took her for a walk all of 6 feet away from her bed and she had to go back. Her aged care facility is low care she needs to be able to go to the dining room for meals and believe me it is more than 6 feet from her room. Ok that is my rant for today.

So. Continuing from yesterday.

Of course, rather than INDICING people to drink port, gout INDUCES the habit. So, yesterday my tiepin was mistaken. My spelling is so bad I need to read a primer on witchcraft. I might find myself teaching ‘whiches knew’ spells. Generally speaking the More...

Good morning everyone. Commiserations to all you living in the cold - warm here - went swimming in Bass Strait yesterday. A bit nippy but very refreshing and great therapy for my aching back!

Rayray, I think you need a few new heroines, possibly Mary Poppins using her umbrella to combat those bladder stones, and maybe Shosho to whee on the oral flames. Shosho might also be able to provide earth dwellers with umbrellas. As to the coin in the dryer, well, it gives a whole new meaning to off with her head. It's one thing to take the head off, but then to toss it around? Not cool!

HI all! You've had the cold but we've just had what you left over, rain, rain, rain and more rain. Oh well, I've just got some good friends coming this weekend from Scotland and the weather forecast is, surprise surprise, more rain!

Everybody.
I wonder if HalT's power got knocked out with all the snow and ice storms going through his area.

Kathy F - I was glad to read Rob made it home safely. Hopefully your kids have uneventful trips to and from work.

I need to stop looking at the 'Winter Storm Warning' from the weather channel. First it was and expected 6 - 12'', then it was 6 - 10'', now it's 10 - 16''. It's a good thing I have nowhere to be until Sunday. This would be a good time for them to be wrong.
