G'day mates. Here's today's daffynition:
novice — good behaviour
And here's today's factoid:
Many psychologists believe laughter is a behavioural response that serves as a signal to others by spreading positive emotions, decreasing stress and contributing to group cohesion.

A Thought For The Day:

Twitter is the only place where you're thrilled when a complete stranger starts following you.

We reached a high of 45 degrees today (113 F).

The forecast for the next 3 days is now for maximums of 45, 46 (115 F), & 40.

There are also 150 bushfires burning around the state but no really bad ones.

Don't you hate the hassle of finding your car in a large car park.

Anyway, now to aeroplane landing in San Francisco airport.

Aeroplanes (especially big, commercial ones) have to follow standard flight paths. If a plane is travelling from the north (clue in the video - NorCal air passage), and the main runway in SF is Southeast to Northwest for landing More...

I have decided... I'd much rather it be too cold than too hot:
One can always bundle up if it's cold.
Having the threat of wild fires is horrid!

I hate hearing about all those nasty temperatures and think I'll just stay in today.

Kathy, I don't know if you remember, but my grandson had his appendix removed 2 days before his wedding in June. We both missed the rehearsal dinner (I was the designated care-giver that night), but he made the ceremony with the aid of some pain killers and a VERY ''can do'' attitude.
The resilience of youth is amazing.

Isn't amazing how many once serious surgeries are now laparoscopically done and the patient is out of the hospital within a day or two? Appendices, spleens, removed through a small hole. I asked the surgeon how did they get a rather large organ though the small hole. He said they grind it up and suck it out!

Good mAen, good people. Tried to accomplish much yesterday outside of Sudokuland and cleared some hurdles but not all of them. Got nothing done in Sudokuland. I'll have to go back and read up on doings.

Our little 2 3/4 year-old grand-twin, Gwen, is having adenoid surgery on Friday. She has a severe case of sleep apnea due to very enlarged adenoids. Surgery is never something to take lightly, but when it's a small child, you can get very apprehensive. Pray that I won't let it show - and for a successful surgery with little pain.

Shiela, fingers crossed for a quick recovery for Gwen.

Cute little dog today. Too cute for no comment so I'll make this one.

A prayer for your grand-twin and for you to keep your expressions happy for her sake.

Shiela, I understand how you feel. Our grand daughter had her tonsils and adenoids out when she had just turned three. It made such a difference, and also helped to clear up her stomach ulcers. I am sure it will all go successfully.

My goodness, Sudokuland seems to be calling us old-timers back. I came back to see people were playing here who had been away for a while when I 'left.' Now I'm reading over yesterday's posts and see a whole bunch of familiar faces. It just seems so perfectly 'right' to see this resurgence More...

Faun's tonsil and adenoid removal made a dramatic difference in her health and schooling. It's so difficult to submit a child over to surgery, but the size of the potential outcome is so huge. Praying for all to go well.
