Anything like a Moon Pie? Washed down with an Arah Cee Co'Cola, mmmmm good.

a whoopie pie is an Amish treat -- they are usually choc with a cream filling -- think about a soft choc cookie with a cream filling -- or pumpkin with a cream cheese filling - about the size of your fist -- I think it's called a whoopie pie because you may think it's so good - that you yell out WHOOPIE - when you get one.

I think any perceived dfference between our two views is not that we disagree but that we regard 'statistics' differently. I regard statistics as a very useful scientific tool - almost essential - whilst you have in mind a different, populist definition of the word that carries with it More...

I like the anbiguity I see within your expression "expanding knowledge".
I sometimes wonder if science merely expands the frontiers of confusion. It leaves an aftermath of increased consciousness - like a trail - but increases confusion at its expanding, circumferential boundary with the unknown. Sorry about the long words - merely trying to get the point across.

Statistics are like bikinis...

Ian, I never allow statistics to hide anything, and usually, while processing good data, they reveal hidden data patterns that lead to new, interesting findings

Very true, Rayray, as long as you have the courage to brace yourself for the fact that your pet theories may be completely disproven, which few government types have.

Point taken. Have you by chance observed that effect/affect within the boundaries of these daily pages? To a minor degree, ambiguity has its own virtues.
