Grasshopper.... I collect old time radio shows, and listen to them during long drives. It turns the drive into a real treat..... quiet time to enjoy the shows..... and makes it go quickly.

With that, I am off to make meat loaves for a charity buffet being held today.

I will be among the missing for the next two weeks, unless I can commandeer a computer from an unsuspecting family member in Texas.
Remember, someone post a puzzle on the weekends I will be gone. More...

Oh - I'm late!
Good Maen all!
Woke up to snow...had to get out and shake off all the trees and lilac bushes so I don't lose any more foilage than I have already this year.

In our parts they say, "Winter isn't over until it's snowed on the daffodils"...well, the daffodils are gone and it is snowing on my tulips!!

Beautiful sky - beautiful flags flying.
I was at a wedding yesterday evening and the location was marked by 3 flags - South African, British and American. The grooms parents were American, the brides parents were British (mom) and South African (dad).

OK.... I will attempt to fill in for our absentee Kathy over this weekend. I cannot guarantee that my prizes will be as creative as hers, tho'.

I want your opinion on something. I told you earlier that we were invited to a graduation party next weekend. Didn't think about it at the time, but we hadn't received a formal announcement. Turns out the ceremony is tonight. TM is a good friend of the father...he is quite hurt. I am taking him out to dinner.

SB - Most schools limit the number of invitations to the graduation ceremony. I know when I was graduated from Oak Park and River Forest High School way back when, we had a class of over 800 students, so only immediate family members were given tickets to the ceremony. As long as you're invited to the party next weekend, I wouldn't worry about it.

Sarah Beth... I'm frequently appalled at the lack of manners these days. If I don't receive a formal invitation, I neither go or send a present. If they can't be bothered, neither can I.

Another thought, some schools only give the graduates a small number of announcements, so these are often just mailed to relatives (especially the rich, out-of-town relatives who won't come to the ceremony but might send a gift!)

Speaking of graduation, that brings up a grammar issue that has bugged me for years. "I was graduated from high school/college" is the proper grammar. This was taught years ago and was an attempt to correct students from saying "I graduated from high school/college". More...

Hmmmm, yesterday's post ended up here again today. Thanks, guys. I was less offended, figuring the family only thing. This is a small community, and TM has been friends with the dad for >30 years. I am looking forward to the party next weekend....even if the "other woman" will be there.

I took TM out to dinner and was the DD. We even went to a bar and I let him go in first while I got my ID and money together. That way, he could feel like he picked me up in a bar.

Woke up to 6 inches of snow this morning; such is life in sunny California! Like Vici, we had to go out and shake it off the trees. We were a bit late, however, and had a few more branches added to last winter's casualty count. It has been a brutal year for our trees.
