Just returned from one of my favorite places - the Smoky Mountain National Park. I never tire of seeing the waterfalls, the majestic trees nor the mountain vistas!

Welcome back, Shiela - your vaca was quite appropriately planned to not be in Florence's path on your return - great weather as well!

Happy to hear Florence is not an issue for you, Hal.
I wonder if some people know what ''mandatory evacuation'' means. I just read about a family (5 adults, 7 kids)that were told to evacuate, but, didn't. They watched a car in front of More...

Oops2. ''mind''.
I can't blame torrential rain and flooding on my typos. More likely due to ''FFS'' (fat finger syndrome).

Yes, Joyce. We had some rain, but, sunny and warm today. Thanks for asking.

A recent projection of the path of Hurricane Florence avoids DC (and also where Kathy lives in nearby Maryland). The path goes well west of us and then northeast.

I haven't long got home from a rather long bike ride and had just sat down here at the computer when we had an earth tremor. It was quite a noisy one.
