Today (if she lived in Oz, that is) is my mother's 96th birthday. Mom! She's pretty spry. She is still living independently in the house she lived in when I was born. Slowing down a bit, but still had her vegetable garden this summer. My siblings check on her daily. Uses a ski pole for stability instad of a cane - she calls it "Greenwood". Percherons Beautiful horses. My Girlfriend had one she took in because it was abandoned. That hose watched while the group of horses tilled at a ring. Then she very carefully helped my 24 year old son get the spear into the ring. Smart lady. 17/Nov/11 12:43 AM |  |

Good working horses those. I await Heidi's expert comment about them. They were used in cities before motor vehicles - for doing such things as delivering coal, pulling milk wagons and carting beer barrels to pubs. Invaluable animals. They are the 'horsepower' of History before power went metric into 'cc's 17/Nov/11 1:33 AM |  |
